MELISSA IN MISSIONS A time to be born and a time to die, A time to plant and a time to uproot, A time to kill and a time to heal, A time to tear down and a time to build, A time to weep and a time to laugh, A time to mourn and a time to dance, A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, A time to embrace and a time to refrain, A time to search and a time to give up, A time to keep and a time to throw away, A time to tear down and a time to mend, A time to be silent and a time to speak, A time to love and a time to hate, A time for war and a time for peace. About a month ago I got to a place where I felt like I was treading water, but not getting anywhere. Out of desperation I ventured out on a new journey of seeking and rediscovering God. I am in a transition phase. Although I am currently still with YWAM, I will no longer be working with the ministry Mission Adventures as I feel like God is speaking new things. Usually the place that I am in at the moment would scare the bejeebers out of me, and it did at first, but now I feel an unknown peace. My first instinct when realizing the place I was in was to “fix it”, it is a big part of my nature to find the solution. After freaking out a bit and running into a couple walls with my own solutions God got my attention again. I have come to realize just how amazing being on this journey is. I have an opportunity to press into God’s nature rather than the circumstances around me, and hold onto His promise to reveal His character to me. About a month ago I got to a place where I felt like I
was treading water, but not getting anywhere. Out
of desperation I ventured out on a new journey of
seeking and rediscovering God.
I am in a transition phase. Although I am currently
still with YWAM, I will no longer be working with the
ministry Mission Adventures as I feel like God is
speaking new things. Usually the place that I am in
at the moment would scare the bejeebers out of
me, and it did at first, but now I feel an unknown
peace. My first instinct when realizing the place I
was in was to “fix it”, it is a big part of my nature to
find the solution. After freaking out a bit and
running into a couple walls with my own solutions
God got my attention again.
I have come to realize just how amazing being on
this journey is. I have an opportunity to press into
God’s nature rather than the circumstances around
me, and hold onto His promise to reveal His
character to me. (continued on back page)

Reflection
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
past present future
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
God is progressive, Stagnation is
not from Him.
Sit and do nothing, I think not.Plan of ActionI know it’s one thing to come to all these realizations but another to take steps. I have been blessed to receive Godly guidance from a brother in the Lord, Pablo, who has been part of YWAM for a number of years. Through his encouragement and God’s guidance I feel led to take a chunk of time and fully devote it to seeking Him. I am very blessed to have an amazing roommate who’s family is willing to let me take the time needed at their house in Reno, Nevada. Pablo will be tracking with me during this time to keep me accountable through phone and email. I am very excited to get away from all possible distractions to fast and pray, not only about my future, but also to give God the opportunity to reveal Himself in me. Your prayers and financial support are very appreciated, and not for a minute taken for granted!
Pray That I will remain
clean and pure before Him in this
transition
Find confidence in Him
Be able to die to myself and see
breakthrough
Logistics during this season will be taken
care of (finances, community, support)
Strength and persistence to
pursue the one thing God has for me
That my time in Reno will be an intimate
and refreshing time

REJOICE IN ADVANCE FOR WHAT HE IS ABOUT TO DO.
(continued from previous page) Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the
tremendous needs and opportunities to serve that we are surrounded by that I
want to just go-go-go. I have been doing this to an extent, and have brought
myself to a rut of exhaustion, lacking motivation.
In this new journey God has been showing me how distorted my view has
been. I am not a “robot” for Him, I am Melissa. He has gifted and placed
desires within me that nobody else posses. I get overwhelmed with chills every
time I think about it. Don’t get me wrong, it is not about me but rather how
God can best be reflected through me. I believe that sometimes we as
Christians get so caught up in fitting a certain mold that we forget that we
individually reflect different characteristics of God and then together as a body
of believers His nature is shown.
I feel like in the past with my eagerness to serve I have somewhat suppressed
the things that God deliberately placed within me for His purposes. Rather
than to blend in and to exhaust myself filling needs, God wants to pull me out
just like He pulled David out of the sheepfolds.
My prayer is that as I transition I will experience the sweet honey of who God is
and that I will not be able to stop myself from ministering this honey. That I
would fully be Melissa, distinguished and set apart for God’s glory.
