Our newsletter is available on our school app: School Stream and our website: www.karingalps.vic.gov.au Kiss and Go Parking Zone Just a reminder about the Kiss and Goparking area at the front of the school on Mallum Avenue. These are short term parking spaces of 2 minutes marked with supplementary Kiss and Gosigns. The area is designated for only dropping off and picking up students and not for leaving your car to collect students from inside the school. Frankston Council has indicated they will enforce the parking restrictions. School Council Elections 2021 Thank you to Hang Dang and Helen James for nominating for two of our three parent positions on School Council and congratulations on becoming members. We are hoping to be able to fill the other position in the near future. A special thankyou to Simon Tiller and Claire Montgomery-Campbell for their commitment, contributions and support to School Council over the last 4 years. Congratulations also to Deirdre Finnegan and Danielle Goldsmith who have re-joined school council as D.E.T. member representatives. Our first meeting and Annual General Meeting is on Wednesday 17 th March at 6:30 pm. in the BER building. I would like to thank all the school councillors for making this ongoing commitment to our school. Our sub committees are Finance, Resource Management, Education Policy, Parents and Friends and Family and Community. Please give some thought to joining one of our sub committees. They meet approximately twice a term. If you feel you cant make an ongoing commitment to any of our sub committees they would still love to have your support over the year. Lost Property Please dont forget to label all items of school clothing, drink bottles and lunch boxes! We already have a growing pile of lost property. Every Day Counts We all want our students to get a great education and come to school each and every day. Missing school can have a major impact on a childs future- a student missing one day a fortnight will miss four full weeks by the end of the year. By year 10 theyll have missed more than a year of school. There is no safe number of days for missing school – each day a student misses puts them behind, and can affect their educational outcomes. If your child must miss school please let us know by 10:00am via the absent line, School Stream, school website or in person so that they can be marked absent for the appropriate reason. Our goal at Karingal Primary School is to have all students at school every day . GRADES 3 TO 6 ATHLETICS DAY

On Wednesday 24th February we held an athletics day! While the teachers desperately tried to keep up, the students whizzed through six different events. We had shotput, discus, hurdles, 100m, long jump and high jump. The students loved to compete on Ballam Park’s nice track and field park as well as use the ‘real deal’ equipment. While our legs hurt at the end of the day, we’re all roaring ready for the next one! As well as for the ribbons to be presented at assembly of course!

Our School Stream

app is now available

to download! The app allows us to deliver information and notices directly to your phone. We encourage all families to install the new app and stay in touch with the latest news and information regarding your child’s education. When you install the School Stream App, you will need to enter an email address to verify that you are a parent/guardian at KPS. This is an email address you have previously provided to the school. You will then need to wait a short time to get the app unlocked. You will be notified when the app is unlocked and ready to use. You will also be able to remove the classes that are not relevant to you by swiping left on the grade’s that you don’t need and remove them so that you don’t receive notifications for other grade’s.
