4k JT....ouch.
As you all know, I am one the biggest fans, supporters, and collectors of the Jason Taylor
series...and have posted many pics of some great looking models.
However, very disappointing today pulling out my $4,000 JT Black Diamond SAS...and it falls
apart. Another case of the cheap and fragile SAS pin that holds this heavy watch head onto
the band, falling apart. The diameter of the screw head is probably .5 of a mm if that. How
can we trust our beloved SAS's to a pin like this, especially a $4,000 one! Invicta must
redesign this critical weak link ASAP.
These are not the type of pictures that I like to or usually post, but it is what it is. Just happy
that it fell apart in my hand and not to the floor. I took a pin out of another SAS to rebuild it
and emailed Millie to get a few black ones. Make sure that yours are tight! FYI, I could not
locate the head to the screw. Here you go!

Luckily the watch didn't fall off your wrist while wearing it that could have caused substantial
damage or lost.

Very upsetting at the least. Hopefully, word gets back to the Invicta Team to fix future
production.

Stuff like that should not happen on a timepiece worth that much money.

Wow. Glad it fell apart in your hand. This happened to one of my SAS. Invicta sent me a
replacement within a week.

Huge Bummer! Maybe Invicta needs to use some semi permanent
Loc-Tite on those screws. __________________

That's a shame. Happened to me with my San3, but I caught it before it fell. Put loc-tite on
the replacement and it's been fine ever since.

Don't really know if it broke, I think it just unscrewed. Couldn't find the head, but the stem
of the screw was not still stuck in the long part. Guess I should loctite them and will.

What a shame. Sounds like a design issue to begin with (too fragile of a screw pin design for
such a heavy watch), but also sounds like another classic QC issue in that the screws aren't
tight coming out of the factory.
I know I'll get nailed on here for saying this, but once an Invicta always an Invicta (no
matter what the price point is). I find their sweet spot is the sub-$200 range. I've had luck
with most watches in this range and find myself not getting too bent out of shape if
something isn't perfect (since I didn't spend a ton).
No offense at all, but in the 4k range (not sure what the actual price of these are?), you've
got quite a selection of watches coming out of fine Swiss brands. Will you get a bezel draped
in black diamonds in combination with that movement and such a detailed case design? No.
Will you most likely get a reliable piece from one of the big houses with a "real" warranty to
back it up? Yes.
Just my 2 cents,
Rich

If u read this forum often, I'm sure u have seen the number of watches the OP purchases. If
he wants a different brand, my guess is he will buy it. Buy what u want, not what others tell
u to buy.
