Please note that room charges are not included in the Advanced Training Course registration fee. A complimentary shuttle will run between the secondary hotels and the Course Venue (InterContinental Hotel Geneva) in the mornings of Jan 30, Jan 31 and Feb 1 and evenings of Jan 30 and 31. Hotel accommodation is subject to request and limited availability. Requests received after December 17, 2012 cannot be guaranteed. Reservations are made on a first-come, first- served basis and are only confirmed when the payment of the deposit is received or a valid credit card number provided. CME ACCREDITATIONThe International Osteoporosis Foundation is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The 22nd IOF Advanced Training Course on Osteoporosis is designated for a maximum of, or up to, 15 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA) towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.

THE IOF ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE ON OSTEOPOROSIS is taught in English by an internationally renowned faculty, providing a concise and practical overview of the latest knowledge on the physiology, epidemiology, diagnosis and management of osteoporosis and related bone diseases. This course, held annually by IOF since 1991, trains up to 250 international participants.

COURSE OBJECTIVESare to provide an understanding of:▪ the underlying physiology and epidemiology of the disease of osteoporosis▪ the signs and symptoms of osteoporosis, and ability to identify them▪ the current diagnostic methods available and how to implement them▪ treatment options available for osteoporosis and the proper assessment of treatment options for the case in hand▪ the interactions between bone and skeletal muscle▪ related disorders such as osteoarthritis, sarcopenia and tumoral bone diseases

COURSE STRUCTURE▪ 28 Lectures - 20 to 30 minutes, followed by 10 to 15 minutes discussion▪ 3 Roundtables - addressing questions from the audience▪ 2 Meet-the-Professor sessions - informal discussion between small groups of participants and a faculty member over lunch▪ Bone Quiz with clinical cases / radiology – and a chance to win a free registration to a future IOF Event
