For the month of September, the Sanctuary Candle is given in loving memory of Armando Federico, given by

“Yes, 'n' how many years can a mountain exist Before it is washed to the sea? Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist Before they're allowed to be free? Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head And pretend that he just doesn't see? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind.” The answer carried everywhere by the blowing wind has ceaselessly tussled our hair, chaffed our face, chilled our hands and somehow at times brushed against our bones. Yet, it still seems illusive and undiscovered. There seems to be a chasm between the questions and the answer. For we humans still point fingers. Still shout. Still shoot. Still dehumanize. Still categorize. Still are very lost and very confused and very mixed up. And we still allow fears to knee-jerk our conviction and reaction. The antithesis of faith in God is not doubt but fear. The worst kind of fear is not uncertainty or lost of control but of one’s self. I am not good enough. I am not beautiful enough. I am too sinful. I have too many dirty thoughts. I am lustful. I am too fat. I am too skinny. I am too short. I am too dumb. I am unlovable. Thus, I have got to hide my fears. I have got to show and act as though I have no fears. That I know everything. That I am good at everything. That I am invincible. That I don’t get hurt. That I don’t cry. That I don’t care what others say or think about me. That I need nobody. We do know better. Ooh, we should know better. An empty cup can not quench our thirst. A heart full of
fears can never love compassionately and divinely. And only when we see upon the face of every human being - every human being, including ours - the beautiful Face of God, will we be able to catch that answer blown all around us by the wind. Thank you, Mr. Bob Dylan. Great news! On Thursday evening, September 10th at 7 p.m. St. Clement’s Parish will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with a total of 9 candidates. The Episcopal Vicar for the Central Region, Very Rev. Brian McHugh, has graciously accepted our invitation to come and administer this sacred sacrament at our beautiful church. Please say a prayer for these special young men and women. Pray that they will be light for the world and salt for the earth. Pray that they will be exceptional instruments of the Holy Spirit! We are in the Year of the Eucharist. So, having somewhat familiarized with the daily routine, I am going to put back the Thursday Evening Holy Hour. Beginning on Thursday, September 17th, the church’s doors will open at 7 p.m. The Blessed Sacrament will be placed on the Altar. You all are invited to come in and pray. In silence, I invite you to pray for peace. Pray for unity. Pray for harmony and love. Pray for others. And pray for ourselves to live free of fears so to be able to catch the answer to joy and happiness. Please wear mask when going outside. Be safe.
Shalom, Father Phong

ushers and we are happy to have your help for any mass time you are able to come! We also need
more people to remain after Mass to help cclean and disinfect the church before the next Mass. To start
volunteering, contact Allison Fillo: ((860) 227-6429 or [email protected]. Indicate what role you
