The Florida Department of Transportation

will begin work on a 8.8-mile resurfacing project along State Road 57 (U.S.19) from U.S. 27 to north

of Martin Road. Improvments inclued updated guardrails, improved striping, instillation of high-

mast lighting from Nash Road to south of I-10, and the addition of a turn lane and median opening

between Phelps Horn Road and the County Road 57A bridge over the railroad tracks. Once

complete, this project will extend the life of the roadway, enhance highway safety, provide a

smoother riding surface and improve drivability.
