Registration / DocumentationState Registration

• Must be registered in the State of principal use.Documented vessel with a hailing port of Washington or Oregon must be registered.Documented vessel owned in Idaho is not required to be registered.

• Vessel numbers are obtained from the State.Vessel numbers remain with the vessel after it is sold. Unless sold to outside of the State.Some boats don’t require registration. Check State requirements.

• If operator’s name doesn’t match owner’s, VE must be satisfied that the operator is authorized to use the boat.
