The Prox-SMZ Advantage Today, BASF Catalysts is ready with the next generation of FCC catalysts with our newly launched Prox-SMZ technology platform. Specifically engineered in response to recent market trends, products based on the Prox-SMZ platform combine attributes from both high zeolite and high matrix activity for maximum distillate yields from the FCC unit.

HDXtra, BASF’s first gas oil catalyst from the Prox-SMZ platform sets a new industry standard with some of the highest MSA and matrix stability available along with lowest Na content, factors that combine to result in high LCO yield and low H-transfer activity for minimal cetane penalties.

For maximization of distillate from heavy resid feeds, refiners now have Stamina™, the FCC catalyst with all of the benefits of Prox-SMZ along with enhanced metals passivation abilities. Stamina can help refiners meet the increased global demand for diesel fuels from the severest feeds. Recent trials have successfully demonstrated how well Stamina can process feeds with higher levels of contaminant metals while reducing slurry yields.
