STUDENT QUOTES“This week has changed my life and made me a better artist and human. The perspective shift the week gives is like no other and the experience gives the taste of working in residency which every artist hopes to attain at some point or another.”
“I’ve learned more during Student Performance Week than I do in my classes. It’s what I should be getting out of my education.”
“I have never felt so artistically fulfilled. Not only that, but in my normal classes I never get the experience to produce something. I rarely fill out grant forms, reserve rehearsal space, or request props/materials to dress a stage. Moving forward (after having done this), I KNOW that when I need to do this in the future I will have the experience to approach that challenge with any extra difficulties professionally and calmly because I’ve done something (or similar) like this before.”
“It was honestly one of the most collaborative and creative things I have experience in two years here.”
“I have never felt more engrossed in a project before, I have never been so pushed out of my comfort zone or more proud of my work. Student Performance Week gave me the chance to create something that I can call purely my own and I will forever be thankful.”

STUDENT PERFORMANCE WEEK
With the support of our Dean’s Circle, Shenandoah Conservatory students worked across disciplines on self-directed, time-limited projects fueled by their own passion, drive and curiosity. The week culminated with a day-long Festival of Arts, Ideas and Exploration featuring a wide variety of exciting, innovative and provocative performances, presentations, roundtable discussions and other special events.
