YAP -2016

Friends, We are happy to announce the successful completion of the Yaps tours 2016. We had a wonderful lot of

young ambassadors both for inbound and outbound. The 18 Yaps from Europe who visited India took back wonderful memories back home. From India we had 30 Yaps visiting Europe, South Africa and Sri

Lanka. This is the first time Sri Lanka has been added to our program. All the participating Yaps were honoured by our Association with Certificate of Appreciation for

representing their country under this program. The European Yaps visiting North India were also awarded 'Community Service Certificates' by Round Table for participation in a project for

underprivileged children.

The hospitality of the European, South African and Sri Lankan hosts was amazing as reported by the Indian Yaps. The Indian hosts also did their part by giving these young adults a true taste of India by hosting them in their homes and taking them to various tourist places. One of the comments received from

a yap’s father from Poland – ―I would like to address to you my deep feeling of gratefulness. Since long time I didn't hear and see my son, Karol as happy as after YAP visit to India. From him I know that trip

was just great from every point of view. THANK YOU that Karol could take a part at this! ―

The 41ers who hosts Yaps in their houses are the pillars of this program. Our sincere thanks to the hosts, without whose support this program can never be successful. The hosts will be honoured by the president

during the AGM with appreciation certificates. Their names will be also recognised in the Fellowship

Magazine.

We are really grateful to the city coordinators, hosts, area chairmen and president for their support. Best Wishes to all Yappers !!

The highlights of Tangent India in its decennial year

Tangent India (TI) was chartered on the 23rd

of September, 2006 at Agra. The then President of 41 Clubs of

India, Sameer Nayyar, initiated the formation of Tangent clubs in India as one of the landmark events of his

year in office.

In its 10th

year this year, as we look back in time, we find TI growing slowly but steadily in the initial years.

Each President in her tenure has tried to contribute in some way to making it a robust organization. In the last

few years, the growth has been on a faster pace. Several new ideas have been infused, streamlining the

processes and setting right some rules to give it the status of an organization, while retaining the flavor of

continuing friendship, fellowship, and fun, with which objective it was formed.

In this decennial year, the pace has been further accelerated. In order to make extensions more wide spread it

was essential to reach out to the smaller cities. With this as our focus, clubs were chartered in cities like

Bhilwara, Raipur, Jaipur, Hubli, and Salem. Of course, not to forget the metropolis, with 1 club in Baroda and

2 more clubs at Bangalore chartered! The resultant exponential growth had the number of clubs and members

growing by leaps and bounds. For this achievement, we owe a big thanks to our own sorority, as well as to the

41 Clubs of India and Ladies Circle India for their constant support and assistance in spreading the word about

Tangent India, and creating the awareness about our organization - for spouses of 41ers, spouses of ex-Tablers

and past circlers.

On our part, to create greater visibility and awareness, the TI Supply House was started, which features items of

utility and is easy to carry and light in weight. These items can also be used by members to give away as

mementoes. It is a matter of time, when there will be a full-fledged Supply House with a convener et al.

A nascent idea of an interactive brainstorming platform for Tangent members was given a shape and form and

the Mid Term Meet was conceived. The 1st MTM which was held in Gurgaon this year proved to be a great

success, worthy of all the effort and hard work. The MTM will now become an annual feature on the TI

calendar of activities and an event equal in importance as the NAGM. Further, for increased intra-

communication, the use of mobile and internet technology have been effectively used with the creation of

WhatsApp and Google groups.

A healthy Corpus is one of the major pillars of a strong and robust organization. In order to meet this objective,

the National Board has been putting their heads together to come out with proposals which would be accepted

and approved, to take the organization into a new phase of financial growth.

Last by not the least, I would like to say a big THANKS to Doc. Sid for giving such prominent space for

Tangent India news in each of the issues of E- Connect right through this year, This would be in our e-mail

boxes on the 1st of every month, come hell or high water, which speaks volumes for his dedication!!!

On a personal level, as I reflect upon my year in office while getting ready to hand over the Jewel, it has been

extremely satisfying and in fact been on a roll , to say the least, with many firsts which have contributed in

achieving what we set out to do - Make a Mark.

Hakuna Matata

The everyday work life of most other teams is based on rules, procedures and instructions. Ours is based on trust, cooperation and support. Thanks for being such a wonderful team. There is no other greater source of

inspiration and motivation than to be appreciated by friendly 41ers and supportive team members. Thanks. When it comes to you guys, the word TEAM is actually the acronym for Terrific Enthusiastic Ambitious

and Motivating. Thanks for being the best TEAM ever.

Dear 41ers, you gave me all the things I did not get from my education – determination, motivation and inspiration. Thanks for being my colleagues and teachers, two in one.

Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase.

Hakuna Matata, ain't no passing craze.

It means no worries for the rest of your days.

As far as you keep busy in many ways.

Aspiring for more challenging and responsible leadership role,
