revealed it (then

ur}¡n)with Truth and surely Youalways reveal (with Truth).

O’ All¡h! Increase my attraction to it(the n ur}¡n); and place it as a divinelight for my eyes; and an intercession for

my (spiritual) chest; and make it (then ur}¡n) that which removes my grief,sorrow and worries. O’ All¡h! Throughthe n ur}¡n, beautify my tongue (thatwhich I speak), and beautify my face,

and strengthen my body, and make myscale of (good) deeds weighty, and grantme the ability to recite it as it should berecited in Your obedience - in thedarkness of the night and the ends of the

day, and raise me up with the Prophet,Mu¦ammad and his family members -the chosen, glorified, the purified, by

Your mercy. O’ the Most Merciful of those who are able to show mercy.

Im¡m Ja{far ibne Mu¦ammad as-¡diq (peacebe upon him) has said: “The n ur}¡n is the trustof All¡h (given) to His creations, therefore it isdesirable for every Muslim to look at this trustand to recite (a minimum of) 50 ¡y¡t (verses) of the n ur}¡n everyday.”

Am¢rul Mo}min¢n {Al¢ ibne Ab¢ ±¡lib (peace beupon him) has said: “The house in which then ur}¡n is recited and All¡h, The Noble andGrand, is remembered will receive numerousDivine blessings (barakah), the Angels will bepresent, and the Satans will be distanced fromthere. In addition, that house will shimmer forthe people of the sky, just like the stars shimmerfor the people on the Earth.”

The Messenger of All¡h (blessings of All¡h beupon him and his family) has said: “One whorecites ten verses (¡y¡t) of the n ur}¡n everynight will not be counted amongst the negligentones (Gh¡fil¢n); and one who recites fifty verses(¡y¡t) will be written as those who remember

All¡h (Dh¡kir¢n); and one who recites onehundred verses (¡y¡t) will be written down asthe obedient and worshipper of All¡h(n ¡nit¢n).”

And theperson who listens to even one verse of the book of All¡h - this is better (for him) than possessinga mansion of gold.”

memorized the entire n ur}¡n.”

The Messenger of All¡h (blessings of All¡h beupon him and his family) has said: “If you wantease and success in this world, the death of amartyr, to be saved on the Day of Loss, a shadeon the Day of the burning n iy¡mat, andguidance on the Day of going astray, then takelessons from the n ur}an. Surely it is the word of the Merciful, a protection from the Satan, andone of the most weightiest of things for the scaleof (good) deeds (on the Day of Judgement).”

Im¡m Mu¦ammad ibne {Al¢ al-B¡qir (peace beupon him) has said: “Anyone who recites then ur}¡n while standing in his al¡t, All¡h willrecord one hundred good deeds (in that person’sbook) for every letter that is recited; and anyonewho recites the n ur}¡n while sitting in his al¡t,

All¡h will record fifty deeds (in that person’sbook) for every letter recited; and one whorecites it (the n ur}¡n) in other than his al¡t,

All¡h will record ten good deeds for every letterthat one recites.”

The Messenger of All¡h (blessings of All¡h beupon him and his family) has said: “Place aportion (of goodness) from the n ur}¡n in your

homes, for surely ease will come to the peopleof that house in which the n ur}¡n is read,goodness will increase, and the inhabitants(of that house) will be given excess bounties.”

All¡h - The Noble and Great - will place himwith the noble, devoted Angels. In addition, then ur}¡n will act as a barrier (between him andthe Hell Fire) on the Day of Judgement.”

Im¡m Ja{far ibne Mu¦ammad as-¡diq (peacebe upon him) has said: “Surely the n ur}¡n is notto be read in a rush or very quickly. Rather, itshould be recited in slow, measured portions.

Whenever you reach a verse which talks aboutHeaven, then stop (at that verse) and ask from

All¡h (the bounties of) Heaven. And wheneveryou reach a verse which speaks about the Hell,then stop (at that verse) and seek protectionfrom All¡h from the Hell Fire (and thepunishment).”

Lord. O’ All¡h! Place it (the n ur}¡n)amongst those people who keeppermitted that which You have madepermissible, and who forbid that which

You have made forbidden and who

believe in the clear and apparent versesand the ambiguous verses and make it(the n ur}¡n) an instrument of love in ourgrave and an instrument of love whenwe are raised up and raise the person

who recites the verses, a stage from thehighest of the high, through Your Mercy,O’ You who are the most Merciful of those who are able to show mercy.
