We provide a variety of activities, from enhancing your camper’s academics to exploring their artistic side to fun and invigorating sports and games. Let your child’s talents shine through here at Camp Tiki by enhancing their skills. Sign up for these enriching workshops so your camper will not miss out. Campers will be making hands-on cooking projects from cake pops, cupcakes, to other baked treats. This is a great way for our campers to make some amazing and awesome creations to taste test, as well as take some home to share. Spaces limited. Food may include wheat, nuts, dairy, and eggs. Please see Ms. Jade for any diet restrictions or food allergies.

S.T.E.M. Challenge: All about WaterJune 25-June 28Tiki camper $75.00; Camp only $125.00M-Th: 9:15am 11:00am- Mr. MiklesEver wonder how about how to make things float or what it takes to build a bridge across water? Each day, we’ll problem solve around the idea of water. These daily STEM challenges spark camper’s curiosity! They will learn how to manipulate supplies, re-do, re-bulid, and re-think! In addition we will practice critical thinking, talking and collaborating, and problem solving. Best of all, STEM challenges are fun!

Ping Pong Boot CampJune 25-June 28Tiki camper $40.00; workshop only $80.00M-Th: 12:30pm-1:30pm- Mr. JeremyWhether your camper wants to learn the game of Ping-Pong or master their skills, this camp will offer a fun time to learn and practice their skills in our “Camp Tiki Lounge”. Campers will improve their skill set while playing with friends and learning techniques such as topspins, back spins, and smash hits. Campers will hang out in the Camp Tiki Lounge for a ping pong tournament on the last day and will enjoy a special treat.

World of Woodworking June 25-June 28Tiki camper $100.00; Camp only $150.00M-Th: 1:30pm 3:30pm- Mr. MiklesWoodshop Workshop can spark up many creative ideas. The campers will be engaged in building wood crafts and furniture. Explore how to make creative and simple wood crafts and furniture. Campers will learn how to use hand tools and power drills with confidence and safety. All ages and experience welcomed. Campers get to take their projects home.

Magic the Gathering July 2(M), July 3(T)-July 5(Th)Tiki camper $55.00; workshop only $100.00M, T & Th 9:00am-12:30pm- Mr. MiklesCreated in 1993 by mathematics professor, Richard Garfield, in order to teach his kids math, and introduced by Wizards of the Coast, the game has fascinated and entertained all kinds of people for decades. This specialty workshop offers a perfect mixture of game play and structure, personal strategy and planning, a healthy dose of luck, and a million possibilities. Through the use of magical creatures and spells, students use critical thinking skills to solve intricate problems and build powerful decks

to defeat their opponents. This is a dynamic opportunity for veteran players as well as those looking to learn the game. It is recommended to bring in a starter deck, but those without cards may borrow a class deck.

All-Star Sports WritersJuly 9-July 12Tiki camper $50.00; workshop only $90.00M-Th: 9:00am-10:45am- Mr. Cembellin Led by a former sports writer and editor, this workshop will introduce a variety of article types, including news stories, recaps, game previews, and analysis. Campers will watch the games and retell the action. If you love sports and have always wanted to try your hand at writing about them, then this workshop is for you!

Babysitter Boot Camp July 9-July 12Tiki camper $95.00; workshop only $175.00M-Th: 12:15pm-1:45pm- Ms. JadeCampers will learn the required basics of babysitting for children 6 months to 8 years old. Topics will include safety, play, basic care, how to handle emergencies, handling multiple children, and babysitting business basics. Campers will learn introductory childcare skills including diapering, basic sign language, age appropriate games and activities, as well as personal and organization skills. Basic first aid training included.

Chef of the DayJuly 9-July 12Tiki camper $90.00; workshop only $130.00M-Th: 1:45pm-3:30pm- Ms. Brandee & Mr. Chris Calling all want-to-be chefs! In this workshop, campers will learn to create their very own meals, by learning about various healthy recipes. We will learn how to discover, prepare meals, measure yummy and nutritious creations that will tantalize your camper’s taste buds. At the end of each day we will enjoy our creations and take home any leftovers to share with our family. This workshop will enhance your camper’s food prepping skills. Mindfulness Meditation July 16-July 19Tiki camper $35.00; workshop only $75.00M-Th: 9:00am-10:30am- Mr. Cembellin Being a kid can be hard work! Between school, practice, friends, family, and fun, there’s a lot to cram into a single day. This workshop is designed to help you slow down, take a breath, and melt your stress away. Campers will learn different techniques to relax the body and mind, including teen coloring books, soothing music, guided meditation, and different breathing exercises. If you’re looking for some calming quiet time, this is the workshop for you!

S.T.E.M. Challenge: Build It Bigger July 16-July 19Tiki camper $90.00; workshop only $150.00M-Th: 12:15pm-2:45pm- Mr. MiklesEver wonder how they built the Sears Tower to stand so tall? Each day, we problem solve

around building bigger and taller buildings. Campers will record the height, shape, and size of their new creation, and then test the structure’s ability. In addition we practice critical thinking, collaborating, and problem solving. There’s no better way to explore engineering principles than to start building! Best of all, STEM challenges are fun!

Card Games-Not just fun and GamesJuly 16-July 19Tiki camper $50.00; workshop only $100.00M-Th: 1:45pm-3:00pm- Ms. Brianna & Ms. JadeIs your child a card game fanatic? Look no further than Card Game Camp! This exciting new workshop gives our students the opportunity to show what they are made of. In this action packed workshop, campers will learn tournament deck construction, competitive game strategy, how to organize their card games, and challenge their intellect while having tons of fun. On the last day we will venture off in our Camp Tiki Lounge to have an Uno Challenge, Speed Tournament, Spoons Challenge, and making a house out of cards. Tiki camper $40.00; workshop only $90.00M-Th: 9:30am-11:30amThis workshop is designed for campers to learn the fundamentals of volleyball including setting, digging, blocking, passing and serving. Your camper will have lots of fun while learning more about the sport of volleyball. Campers will develop new skills and the importance of being part of a team from West Valley’s very own Coach Darci or Coach Tony. Campers are highly encouraged to bring a snack, a bottle of water, athletic shoes, and sunscreen.

Intro to Middle School Math (Incoming 5th and 6th graders)July 23-July 26Tiki camper $50.00; workshop only $100.00M-Th: 9:00am-11:00am- Mrs. Tadena Through the use of real-world situations, stimulating scenarios, and hands-on opportunities, campers will practice the skills of problem-solving, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing as they work at their pace on various problems. The goals of this workshop are to gain the ability to demonstrate the fundamentals of math and to have fun while solving problems! This workshop is especially designed for students entering 5th grade and is also an excellent refresher course for those just finishing 5th grade.

Ninja Warrior CampJuly 30-August 2Tiki camper $75.00; workshop only $150.00M-Th: 9:30am-11:30am- Mr. JeremyCampers will get a chance to practice physical and mental challenges. This workshop will feature three mini obstacle courses before the main inflatable obstacle course challenge which takes place on the finale day. Each day campers will exercise, challenge their balancing skills, hand and eye coordination while bonding with friends. In addition, campers will tackle physical and mental challenges as an individual and as a team while they compete to break top records. Sign up today, and JUMP into the FUN! Flag Football CampAugust 6-August 9 Tiki camper $50.00; workshop only $100.00M-Th: 9:30am-11:30am- Coach DesheonFlag Football Camp is a non-contact sports workshop where campers will learn the fundamentals of throwing, receiving, rushing, and defense, as well as the rules and strategies of the game. Coach Desheon will support our campers by preparing them for next season, while also teaching them valuable lessons such as good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. By the end of the week our campers will have developed an understanding of the game, rules, and technical skill for a variety of positions. WVMS players are encouraged to get a head start and join this sports camp to get ready for Fall sports season. Campers are highly encouraged to bring a snack, a bottle of water, athletic shoes, and sunscreen.

Basketball CampAugust 13-August 16Tiki camper $50.00; workshop only $100.00M-Th: 9:30am-11:30am- Coach AlGet ready to show off your basketball skills. Campers will learn basketball skills from Cal Berkeley great, Al Grigsby! Coach Al will teach the campers the fundamentals of basketball (shooting, passing and dribbling) and the importance of teamwork. At the end of this great specialty workshop our campers will “show off” their new skills they acquired in a scrimmage. Campers are highly encouraged to bring a snack, a bottle of water, athletic shoes, and sunscreen.

WELCOME TO CAMP TIKI! Each week, our campers will jump into action, participating in interactive sports activities, exploring fun fieldtrips around the area, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, and participating in group activities. Camp Tiki provides project based “Brain Gains” activities, 3-4 planned weekly fieldtrips. Camp Tiki creates a summer experience that is FUN and unforgettable!

Camp Tiki offers enriching and fun-filled programsMornings cover theme-related, project-based activities called “Brain Gain.” Summer Camp teachers will have a lesson plan, centered on campers’ interests and related to the theme of the week. Some examples of Brain Gain activities include the Extinction Game, team Sudoku, team Scrabble, and cardboard duct tape boats. We provide campers with several fun options including 3-4 fieldtrips a week. Each week, fieldtrips include two trips to the local pool, an optional walking fieldtrip to local places in our community such as Starbucks and Mitsuwa or bring in vendor such as hula dancers and a paint day from Complementary Colors Art Studio. We end each week with a bigger fieldtrip such as Round One, Raging Waters, and Laser Quest. Camp is filled with lots of hands-on interactive activities. Campers come together two times a week for “Group Gathers.” Group Gathers are a fun way to get the camp together with games and activities such as a challenging water balloon toss, a water melon eating contest, and tug-of-war. Throughout the day and in the afternoon campers will have access to our recreational room/ Camp Tiki Lounge and will take part in two different rotations daily. Rotation activities are led by camp leaders. Some examples of our rotations include chess, cooking, sports, debate, art, and science.
