    HUDCOs Role in Major Initiatives of

    Govt. of India

    JNNURM:Involved in Appraisal, Monitoring, Capacity building and supporting the

    agencies through preparation of CDPs and DPRs. In addition, HUDCO also

    offers Viability Gap Funding.

    Interest Subsidy Housing for Urban Poor (ISHUP) scheme:HUDCO is a Nodal Agency as well as a Prime Lending Institution (PLI)

    Affordable Housing in Partnership Scheme (AHP):

    Involved in Appraisal and Funding

    Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) :

    Involved in capacity building activities under IEC component.

    Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) :

    Support to HUDCO by the Ministry of HUPA, GoI

    HUDCO has been facilitated to play a significant role in the successful implementation of

    the Government of Indias flagship programme of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban

    Renewal Mission (JNNURM) in the following ways:

    1. Preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs): 60 DPRs for BSUP& IHSDP

    2. Appraisal : 1246 projects covering 875 cities/towns, accounting for about 77% ofall the projects sanctioned by MoHUPA.

    3. Monitoring : One of the Central Monitoring agency for BSUP/IHSDP, 175 fieldvisits done.

    4. Assessment of Third Party Monitoring reports : 998 reports analysed

    5. Funding of Viability Gap requirements Sanctioned 64 projects (loan Rs4376 crore), covering 18 infrastructure projects, and 5.24 lakh housing units

    6. Capacity Building : 77 Regional level Programmes for JNNURM, 42 State &Regional level workshops.

    7. Role in Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY):

    * preparation of 8 Slum Free city Plans have been taken up,

    * three National Workshops on RAY organised* 22 Pilot DPRs appraised by HUDCO.

    * Technology Transfer from lab to land* Skill upgradation and training to the construction

    BUILDING CENTRESAN OVERVIEW

    National Network of Building Centres was launchedby the MoHUPA in August 1988 as a Central Schemefor providing decentralized delivery system fortechnology transfer from lab to land.

    Total Number Sanctioned : 577 in 399 Districts Works Executed : Rs. 1453 Crore

    Materials Produced : Rs. 367 Crore

    No. of Persons Trained : 2.58 lakh

    The Scheme was discontinued by the Planning

    Commission in 10thPlan.

    REVIVAL OF BUILDING CENTRES

    HUDCO has constituted a Committee under the

    Chairmanship of Shri Kirtee Shah for revival and

    strengthening of National Network of Building Centres

    under HUDCOsCSR Policy.

    The Committee, after visiting various Building Centres,

    has prepared the Report and suggested 12 pilot phase

    interventions for a total project cost of Rs. 98.90 lakh.
