Circular Film Lined Extended Casing SilencersCircular Medium Velocity Film Lined Extended Casing CMTXCircular High Velocity Film Lined Extended Casing CHTXPRICE Absorptive Circular Film Lined Extended Casing Silencers are designed to provide a practical solution for controlling undesirable noise in circular ductwork systems that require high insertion loss at lower frequencies and additional protection for the acoustic media. This silencer line features a thin film liner that encapsulates the acoustic media to protect it from moisture and airborne contaminants while thicker external casing provides improved insertion loss. Our available standard sizes offer excellent flexibility to ductwork designs, and because we do not limit our cataloged silencer offering to certain sizes, we have the ability to build each silencer to suit the ductwork and, in turn, the application.
Features• Enlarged external casing to improve low
frequency insertion loss.• Thin polymer film liner that encapsulates
the acoustic media for added protection.• Acoustic standoff that separates the thin
film liner from the perforated metal to ensure the highest levels of insertion loss.
that minimize pressure drop and turbulence.• 2” slip connection on both ends.
CMTX SilencersPrice CMTX silencers are designed for medium velocity applications. This medium velocity configuration provides high levels of insertion loss across the full range of frequencies. The sleek curved inlet and outlet of the center pod reduce turbulence and allow for static regain for improved pressure drop. This configuration is best suited for applications with velocities of 4000 fpm or less.
CHTX SilencersPrice CHTX silencers are designed for high velocity applications and have no center pods that enter the air stream to constrict the air flow. The design minimizes the pressure drop that can occur at higher velocities, while still providing high levels of insertion loss. The Price CHTX Silencer model is best suited for applications where low pressure drops are the priority or where high air velocities cannot be avoided.

ConstructionPrice absorptive circular film lined extended casing silencers consist of an enlarged solid metal casing, perforated metal liner, film liner, acoustic standoff, and acoustic fiberglass media. These silencers are available in various classifications to meet the specific requirements of each project.
CL1 – 22 gauge casing & 22 gauge perforated liner
CL2 – 18 gauge casing & 22 gauge perforated liner
CL3 – 16 gauge casing & 22 gauge perforated liner
For applications with very strict or unique requirements that cannot be met by the standard construction classifications, please contact your local Price sales rep.
MaterialG – Galvanized (Default material)
A – Aluminum†
304 – 304 Stainless Steel†
316 – 316 Stainless Steel†
SC – Satin Coat (Paintable)† Sheet metal gauge may differ from standard values.
LinerA thin polymer film is wrapped around the fiberglass media to provide a barrier against elements that may be found in the air stream. To ensure that acoustic performance is maintained, an acoustic standoff is placed between the perforated metal and the film liner.
DimensionsPrice absorptive circular film lined extended casing silencers are built to match the duct dimensions, therefore the diameter and length dimensions for the silencer must always be specified. Please consult the Standard Dimension Limits chart for available sizes.
