Since its introduction nearly 30 years ago, the Super Drill has been continuously improved due to constant input from the field. In response to customer demands, the Super Drill provides toolroom flexibility through an advanced modular design. The basic set consists of a head, shank, centre drill and cutting blades with optional extension arbors that can be added for deeper holes. Super Drill’s ease-of-use is further enhanced by this modular construction.

Manufactured in Japan, the Super Drill features a built-in centre drill that acts as an axis for precision drilling, eliminating the need for centre drilling and pilot holes. It is available in 10 standard head sizes, A1-55, A2-65, B-80, C-100, D-120, E-150, F-180, G-210, H-240 and I-270, for drilling 50mm to 270mm diameters up to a depth of 15 times diameter.

The cutting edge of the Super Drill consists of a centre drill, a roughing blade and a finishing blade. Different hole diameters can be bored by changing blades within the capacity of each drill head. New

Super Drill cutting blades are manufactured from sintered HSS providing excellent drilling even in hard metals and while the blades and centre drills can be re-sharpened reducing total tool cost, the addition of a force fed oil ring will greatly extend blade life and improve cutting performance.

The versatile Super Drill has excelled in machine shop environments since its introduction and has gained acceptance in a variety of field drilling applications including: oil field, power plant, agricultural repair and more. They have been utilised in applications on machining centres right through to portable magnetic drills.

Deburr Master® tools are constructed with precision machined, solid tool steel and can be used on machines such as single or multi-spindle drilling machines, lathes, NC machine tools, hand tools and machining centres. Each tool is fitted with a replaceable standard blade made of high-speed steel in Double Action (DA), unless otherwise specified. Special tools and sizes are available. Simply adjust the setscrew in the shank end for desired chamfer based on the hardness of the material and the RPM’s being used. No special skills are required. Deburr Master® tools are available in both inch and metric sizes.

REPLACEMENT BLADESBlade Types:Each tool is furnished with a standard blade made of high-speed steel in Double Action (DA). DA (Double Action) for deburring front and back of hole. BA (Back Action) for deburring only the back of hole. Available on request.

DEBURRING ON CROSS-HOLEWhen deburring on a cross-hole, special attention must be paid to the relationship of the cross-hole diameter and that of the main bore.

The main bore must be at least three times larger than the cross-hole diameter or the holder will be damaged. If the main bore diameter is 3 or 12 times that of the cross-hole then a blade with a 45 degree angle should be used (available by special order). A standard blade can be used if the main bore diameter is more than 12 times that of the cross-hole.
