WORKSHOP MEETNG APRL 15 2010 28 Workshop Meeting of the TownBoard o he Town of Irondequoit held in the Broderick oo of the Town Hall 1280 Titus Avenue Monroe County New York on the 15th day o APRIL 2010 at 4 0 PM PRESENT Mary Joyce D ri Supervisor Stephanie Aldersley Deborah Essley Paul Marasco John Perticone Councilmembers Bethany Centrone Attorney for the Town Others in attendance included Senior Payroll Clerk Beth Watro Comptrollers John Bovenzi and Annie Sealy Acting Commissioner o ublic orks Pat Meredith Director o Development Services Larry Heininger Chief Rchard Boyan and Town Clerk Genier Supervisor ri called the meeting to order Pledge was said and Town Clerk Genier called r ol Supervisor ri said there would be no financial report forthis evening as Comptrollers er working with auditors there wll be a report at Tuesday egular TownBoard Meeting Review o Agenda It 1 Agenda It 1 7 Filling One Zoning Board Vacancy Supervisor D ri introducedRobert Hammond who wll be replacing Paul Marasco in this position Mr Hammond said h e looking forward to working with the Zoning Board and becoming invoved again in public service Town Board members very impressed with his resume 2 Agenda It 1 Calling for Public Hearing Pertaining to Adoption o he Irondequoit 2010 Community Development Block Grant Program Public Hearing to be held May 18 2010 Comptroller Bovenzi said this Public Hearing is a requirement in anticipation o receiving funding in the sum of 1 9 7 3 6 or the 2010 0 1 1 Community Block Grant Program beginning August 1 2010 through July 31 2011 Councilmember Aldersley questioned the amount allocated for elder care a d safety for seniors and she was tod Lifespan requested that mou The amount the Town is receiving was also questioned i f he census 2010 shows the population declining for Irondequoit Comptroller Bovenzi said we are guaranteed the amount through August 2011 and after that date the amount could be questionable I f Irondequoit remains an entitlement community the funds should be available It s very important for the ow s opulation to remain above 5 0 0 0 o qualify for other grants 3 Agenda 2 mending 2010 Operating Budget to Accept Grant i n he Amount o 1 1 4 4 8 1 his grant wll allow the court facility to make certain improvements Theresoution was approved last July to accept the grant but the budget sn mended This is a routine budget mendment att r

properties as far as the libraries gobutcanmake improvements to thebuildings SupervisorDurizosaid the responsibilitiesohe Library Board aregreat and there areanumbero

Councilmember Aldersley said the LibraryBoardsordswereverywelcome She
spoke about thePermssive Referendum vote and felt the basisoherejectionwas
misinformationandthe fact that thecommunity wantedtheTown toownthebuildingnoleaseitIts aperfect time to start again
LibraryBoardMember Stephanie Squicciarini reported the Boardmetwithaconsultant
to get the community focused ononelibrary andhelp with fundraising campaign She saidthe TownBoardandLibrary Board couldjointly create fundraising efforts and findbest wayto get themessageacrosstoresidents Thepresent library buildings donohave 5o10 years
left inthem Theconsultant said she has only hadtwofailedreferendumvotes mostwere
successful which isvery encouraging
