Dr Rachel Dinwoodie Consultant Orthodontist & Private Orthodontic Practitioner BDS (Wales) MSc (Lond) FDSRCS (Edin) M.Orth FDS RCS (Edin) F.Orth FDS RCS (Edin)

Rachel undertook her three year orthodontic training at Guy’s Hospital and East Grinstead. Whilst at Guy’s she was awarded the ‘Geoffrey Fletcher Prize’ in orthodontics. In 2004, she obtained a consultant training post at Kingston Hospital and the Eastman Dental Hospital and during this two year training period Rachel specialised in treating the more complex clinical cases including those patients with significant facial deformities and clefts. In 2007, Rachel was awarded the prestigious ‘British Orthodontic Society Maurice Berman prize’. This prize is awarded annually to a member of the British Orthodontic Society in the UK who shows clinical excellence in the treatment of a multidisciplinary case. In 2012, she was awarded a ‘British Orthodontic Society Special Service award’ by the Society for her services to Orthodontics over the years. Rachel has been a Consultant at Kingston Hospital for over 10 years, she treats complex cases as well as teaching, training and mentoring trainee orthodontists. She has worked as a specialist in Surrey for over 17 years and has been involved in training nurses and therapists during this time. Rachel currently has a lead role on the British Orthodontic Conference Committee which organises academic conferences annually and strives to improve the quality and care of orthodontic patients in the UK. Her clinical interests are in aesthetic orthodontics for adults and ‘fast-treatment’ mechanics. Rachel has recently opened two new private practices in Surrey and is a busy mum of two little girls.

Dr Darsh Patel Owner at Invisibrace & Principal Orthodontist MOrth RCS (Eng) MPhil Orthodontics (Birm) BDS (Manc) MFDS RCPS (Glasg)

Darsh Patel is highly regarded within the orthodontic profession and one of the leading orthodontists in the UK. He has received many awards during his career to date, including one for clinical excellence in his cases from the Royal College, Membership in Orthodontics examination. Over the years, Darsh has been actively involved in lecturing on the latest techniques in visible and invisible braces, sharing his experiences and expertise with orthodontists both nationally and internationally. His extensive knowledge and skills enables Darsh to treat and rectify even the most severe and demanding orthodontic problems and he can individually tailor each treatment to create that unique smile.

Dr Annika Patel Specialist Orthodontist, London BDS (London), MJDF RCS (Eng), MSc (London), MOrth RCS (Edin), (GDC: 153541)

Dr Patel qualified with both her undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and postgraduate Masters in Orthodontics from King’s College London. She undertook her specialist training in orthodontics at Guy’s Hospital and the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. This allowed her to treat both child and adult patients, requiring multidisciplinary care from other specialties. In addition Dr Patel has treated a number of adult patients with lingual orthodontics systems, and is an advanced user of the Incognito system, allowing her patients to have discrete and aesthetic treatment. Her Masters research looking at websites and orthodontic marketing, was published in the European Journal of Orthodontics and presented at a Medical World Congress in Maui, Hawaii – she has also been invited to speak both regionally and internationally, in Austria and Italy.
