3DRIVERS is an environmental consulting firm that partners with its clients for the ultimate aim of
promoting the sustainability of their activities, placing the focus on evaluating and improving the
environmental performance of systems, products and services.
What sets us apart is our systemic vision and permanent updating on technological, policy and regulatory
context in the countries where we operate. In this context, we have developed a positive perspective on
environmental issues and constraints: we believe that environmental challenges are first and foremost
business opportunities, that differentiate businesses and improve their competitiveness.
3DRIVERS has a creative team with a wide experience, that actively and innovatively addresses
environmental challenges of various natures, exploring opportunities for improvement that enables its clients
to gain competitive advantages and a forefront market positioning .
The field of waste management is the "core" of our professional consulting business, and the development of
this activity in Portugal and in the European Union mirrors the developments achieved at 3DRIVERS. We
were pioneers in providing support to companies and public institutions on the implementation of the basic
principles of European environmental policy, such as the "Polluter Pays" or "Extended Producer
Responsibility", which were associated with the genesis of the various dedicated waste management entities
in the country today.
3DRIVERS has a cumulative experience of more than 12 years in providing consultancy services in the
field of waste management in Portugal, but also in other European Union countries and in developing
countries. Overall, these services cover several action levels, from support to public institutions such as
Environmental Agencies, to local government, to industries, by covering the entire business cycle, including
design, evaluation, implementation, monitoring and optimization of industrial systems and/or industrial
plants in waste management.
6
This experience has resulted in an ever better capacity for technical-economic modeling of industrial
systems and recovery/recycling processes, enabling the development of various action strategies, together
with the client, and support their management decisions. Secondly, and consequently, the company has
developed various support services provided to public at the level of conceptualization, formulation and
implementation of public policies respective institutions.
3DRIVERS also remains a pioneer in the application of various industrial ecology tools (for example,
Life Cycle Assessment methodology) for the evaluation and optimization of environmental performance of
systems, products and services. These tools have allowed 3DRIVERS to develop its consulting activity by
making use of the latest scientific developments already included in the European environmental policy. By
mainstreaming the implementation of the various methodologies used in addition to (i) Waste
Management, 3DRIVERS offers consulting services in other areas, namely: (ii) Environmental and
Economic Assessment and optimization, and (iii) Licensing, Certification and Environmental Monitoring.
In this context, projects developed by 3DRIVERS include several waste flows including, municipal solid
waste, end of life vehicles, used tires, waste oils, electrical and electronic waste, package and packaging
waste, among other hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Today, 3DRIVERS is a highly specialized
company, whether in terms of waste management systems, whether in processing technologies and value
chains of industrial processing units of various waste streams.
