For Windows Users (for Macs, skip to next page…{) Download Repetier http://www.repetier.com/download/repetier-host-windows-1-0-
1. Double click Rep icon .exe file 2. Follow prompts to install - create desktop icon for Repetier ONLY (not Arduino, etc.) 3. Repetier may open after it is installed and the Slicer Configuration Wizard may open.
Just Close it.
Configuring Slic3r Using the STEAM Engine Settings STEAM Engine.ini file is on the flash drive
1. Open Repetier
2. Click Slicer Tab
3. Click on the Configuration button
4. Click on "file" then the "preferences" tab A dialog box will open, select EXPERT mode & click OK
Close the main slic3r dialog box and Configuration button again. Expert Mode will allow you to import other configuration files.
Now, with Slic3r dialog box open:
1. In Print Settings, Click File, Load Config and browse to Select STEAM_Engine.ini from the flash drive
2. Click on the blue disk icon to save the config file to Repetier
Click on the Filament Settings tab and Printer Settings tabs and save the STEAM_Engine.ini file
Before you begin, make sure the Printer is connected to the computer & Repetier is CLOSED!
1. From flash drive, drag ARDUINO folder to desktop
or download ARDUINO: 6/http://arduino.cc/download.php?f=/arduino-1.0.6-windows.exe
2. Double click the .exe file & follow prompts
3. Click Tools, Board and Select ARDUINO MEGA2560 or Mega ADK
4. Click, Tools, Serial Port, and Select the COM PORT
(bottom right corner will say )
The STEAM Engine 3D printer that has been provided to you by 3D Parts Mfg. can now be plugged in to be ready for scanning, downloading, designing, and printing STL files. Go to TinkerCad.com and create a free account. Minors are required to enter parents email address.
There are lessons that may be a fun start too!
123D Design Go to 123Dapp.com and follow the directions to download and install 123Ddesign.
(Both PC & Mac Versions are available)
It will ask you if you want to download MeshMixer: it is not required to create 3D Printable files in 123D Design; and we will you Netfabb Basic to repair & handle STL files.
