WISE COUNTY GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
Wise County's population is expected to increase to 105,797 residents by 2045, according to data from the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the region's official planning body. That's an increase of 55 percent.
During the next five to 10 years, another 3,000 people are expected to move into Rhome as a result of home construction in the new Prairie Point subdivision.
In addition, over the next couple of decades thousands of other residents are expected to move to Rhome as part of the Rolling V development, which is expected to span 3,400 acres (about 2,000 acres in Wise County).
Proposed 2,000 acre mixed-use development, both commercial and residential, planned by PMB Capital Investments, a Dallas real estate and investment firm, has been approved by the Rhome City Council.
PMB Capital has been involved in several multi-million dollar mixed-use developments in North Texas, including a $500 million master-planned community in Fort Worth with homes from the upper $200,000s to the mid $400,000s.
The Rolling V Ranch project has been in the works for more than a decade now. The state legislature established a special utility district under Rolling V Ranch Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 Wise County in 2007. It allows the district to establish a five-person governing board and collect taxes to repay any bonds issued to develop or improve the land via House Bill 4642.
