Jesus’ devoutly religious audience certainly did! Scant sympathy for anyone foolish enough to trav- el crime-ridden “Jericho Highway” alone. Much sympathy for priest and Levite, hurrying to assigned temple ministry, unwill- ing to risk ritual impurity through handos0on mercy. And politi- cal enemies. Jesus challenges them—and us—to seek God’s presence not only in liturgical beauty but in a fel- low traveler’s self-inflicted misfortunes. See God’s presence even in someone outside the law, whose hands-on mercy springs not from religious obligation but from the heart’s instinctive goodness. Since Jesus became our “Good Samaritan” despite out foolish- ness and sins, who are we to ration out mercy? “who is my neighbor” (Luke 10:29). The next person we see who needs hands-on mercy! No Conditions, no lim- its, no exceptions. Especialmente en este Año Jubilar de la Misericordia, Jesús manda: "Ve y haz lo mis- mo" (10:37) Readings for the week of July 10, 2016 Sunday: Dt 30:10-14/Ps 69:14,17,30-31,33-34,36-37/Col 1:15-20/Lk 10:25-37 Monday: Is 1:10-17/Ps 50:8-9,16-17,21,23/Mt 10:34-11:1 Tuesday: Is 7:1-9/Ps 48:2-8/Mt 11:20-24 Wednesday: Is 10:5-7,13-16/Ps 94:5-10,14-15/Mt 11:25-27 Thursday: Is 26:7-9,12,16-19/Ps 102:13-21/Mt 11:28-30 Friday: Is 38:1-8,21-22/(Ps) Is 38:10-12,16/Mt 12:1-8 Saturday: Mi 2:1-5/Ps 10:1-4,7-8,14/Mt 12:14-21 Next Sunday:Gn 18:1-10/Ps 15:2-5/Col 1:24-28/Lk 10:38-42 Lecturas para la semana de Julio 10, 2016 Domingo:Dt 30:10-14/Sal 69:14,17,30-31,33-34,36-37/Col 1:15-20/Lc 10:25-37 Lunes: Is 1:10-17/Sal 50:8-9,16-17,21,23/Mt 10:34-11:1 Martes: Is 7:1-9/Sal 48:2-8/Mt 11:20-24 Miércoles: Is 10:5-7,13-16/Sal 94:5-10,14-15/Mt 11:25-27 Jueves: Is 26:7-9,12,16-19/Sal 102:13-21/Mt 11:28-30 Viernes: Is 38:1-8,21-22/(Sal) Is 38:10-12,16/Mt 12:1-8 Sábado:Miq 2:1-5/Sal 10:1-4,7-8,14/Mt 12:14-21 Próximo Domingo: Gen 18:1-10/Sal 15:2-5/Col 1:24-28/Lc 10:38-42
