I’m a union ironworker with an addiction tomotorcycles. I enjoy all kinds of motorcycles.I dont run across many people that rideharleys and race superbikes. I think if your amotorcycle enthusiast you should appreci-ate all aspects of motorcycling.

My friends named my bike the “Black Diamond”.I’ve been riding since I was 5. I started building bikeswhen I was 18. My first solo build was an air oilcooled GSXR 750. I came to find out that buildingbikes was cheaper than outrite buying them. Basketcases were the best.

One builder I really like is Paul Yaffe. I actully start-ed building the bike along the lines of his discoverychannel bike. I even purchased thier exhaust sys-tem. The sheetmetal and tank are all off the shelfitems! While building the bike we ranacross a few problems, aligning thetransmission and motor, clearencesand bad chrome that needed replat-ing. Looking back I would have gonewith 2 inches shorter on the back-bone, a bit less rake and a smallerrear tire (300 to 260).

I own a 2006 gsxr 1000cc race bike,2009 CBR1000 racebike and a RMZ450. My favorite riding spots aredefinitly the track. Riding/racing butfor obvious reasons my prostreetdoesnt work very well in those condi-tions. I ride the bike around town a bitand have gone on a couple of runs. Iget some looks sometimes. Most peo-ple seem to call it the “Batman bike” Iguess I can see why. I’ve been asked ifmy bike was on tv shows.

I actually have two funnymoments on my bike. I had aCalifornia Highway Patrol Offi-cer ask me if he could takesome pics on the bike when itwas being inspected and bluetagged. I also had a homelessman ask if he could sit on it (Isaid yes cuz thats how we roll).

I dont have a favorite bike or afavorite motorcycle movie, but Ican say I hate all cheesy bikemovies such as biker boys.I would like to thank my buddyRich Vasquez and Razzo forhelping me on the build .

Glynn Paul Rivera

CP: What was your first motorcycle experience?Glynn: GSXR 750. My brother owned the Suzuki. He alwaystold me to ride it but I was scared. One day I was at the beachand saw a girl riding a motorcycle and I told myself if a girlcould ride one I could handle one. That was it! The moment Igot home from the beach I jumped on my brother’s bike and therest was history.

CP: When did you start riding?A: One year after high school. I had opportunities prior to thatbut I was scared of motorcycles.

CP: What’s your favorite bike route?A: Neptune’s going down the canyon with the beach views,WOW!!! Also San Diego I guess anything coastal.

CP: What kind of motorcycle(s) do you have?A: I have three a 2005 HD Deluxe, 2005 HD Springer and a2007 HD Deluxe

CP: If you could write a new law or modify a current one (inrelation to motorcycles) what would it be?A: Exhaust. This law is a complete bunch of bullshit. Anyonethat rides knows loud exhaust makes other people aware of youjust by the sound.
