Current studies suggest that poor posture is directly related to long term quality of life. Yep - being able to do the things

that you want to do when you want to do them is what we are talking about.

If you suffer from back pain or someone you know does, look closely at their posture and the chair/recliner that

they sit in each day. Here are the 2 critical factors that the team at Geckoblue are

trained to look for when fitting our clients to the perfect chair for them. Factors that ensure the perfect fitting chair

for you, first time every time are- 1 Check the height of the chair being used, is it higher than your head or lower? If it is too high you may find your head being pushed forward, this will cause neck ache and discomfort. It is your neck that needs to be supported, your neck then supports your head. So ideally your head should be slightly higher than the chair when you are in a sitting position.

2 How deep is the seat? For ideal lumbar support the depth of your chair/recliner should duplicate the distance from your knee to your hip. This will ensure perfect lumbar support for you. And your feet will comfortably touch the ground.

Lets create a bubble and ignore the mass marketing and commercialism of Christmas just for a short moment - ahh the bliss.Christmas time is without out doubt the most important time of year for children. All those wonderful gifts from Santa are not very far away, and secretly the dads can’t wait to assemble and then play with those great toys and gizmos too, (after all someone’s got to show the kids how they work, right dads!). Christmas is an important part of the Christian calendar also, God gave his only son, that our sins would be forgiven. These things don’t happen to us very often but when they do it is something special, and for me I found it a very humbling experience.

You may not be sure what I am referring to so please let me share.

In September this year the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce held its annual business awards night. Geckoblue Interiors was nominated for Small Business of the year, I was nominated for Business Person of the Year and in both categories we were 1 of 3 finalists for each category.

... And here’s what happened.

Firstly Geckoblue Interiors won the Small Business of the year category and then I was fortunate to win ‘The Business Person of the Year’ award.

The final award of the evening was ‘Business of the year’ for all categories, it was a crazy, crazy

night full of mixed emotions and I am still over awed by the experience today every time I thing about it.

And yes, Geckoblue Interiors is the winner of the RKCC Business of the year 2014. We are now in the state Telstra business awards – wish us luck!

Serve this fresh and flavoursome salsa as an accompaniment to fish or seafood at your Christmas lunch.

Ingredients• 1 large papaya• 1 small pineapple• 2 spring onions• 1 small red chilli• 1 garlic clove• 2 ½ tsp lemon juice• ½ tsp ground cumin• Salt and pepper to taste

Method1. Remove the seeds and skin from the papaya and

cut into small cubes.2. Remove the skin and core from the pineapple

and chop into small cubes.3. Finely dice the spring onions and finely chop the

chilli and garlic.4. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Adjust the seasoning if needed.5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, until

ready to serve.
