Abstract In order to determine the ecological performance of environmentally friendly asphalt mixturematerials, their physical and mechanical properties of strength characteristics, low temperature performance,high temperature stability, water stability, stripping resistance and water permeability were tested. For the promotionof a novel grass-planting ecotype asphalt mixture, planting test was conducted to compare the real effects ofchosen medium and seed, as well as its impact to the environment. The research findings could provide theoreticalguidance in the application of the ecotype asphalt mixture materials to environmental engineering.
