Interviews are not only made for interviewers to know about you, it also gives you the opportunity

to know if the position actually fits you.

It’s your chance to know everything about the company, the position, the team, their values and

many other important things.

We have gathered some examples of questions you could ask the employer on your next interview.

So when the “Do you have any questions?” part comes up, you are prepared.

The Position

• What attributes does someone need

to be successful in this position?

• What does a typical day look like?

• What kind of projects would I be

working on?

• What are the ideal skills and

experiences needed for this position?

• Would you expect the main

responsibilities to change in the next

six months?

• Is this a new role that has been

created?

Probably one the most important topics. Make sure you know first hand what your duties will be now and in the future.

Training & Professional Development

• How will I be trained?

• What training programs are

available to your employees?

• Are there opportunities for

advancement?

• Would I be able to represent the

company at industry conferences?

• Where have successful employees

previously in this position

progressed to?

Think of your next job as the path into your career success. Will this position take you there?

The Company

• Where do you see the company in

a few years?

• Are there any plans of growth?

• What excites you about the

company’s future?

• What kind of sustainability

programs does the company

have?

• What do employees value most

about the company?

Because you are not working for your boss or your department, but the company as a whole.

Your Performance

• How would my performance be

tracked?

• How often is performance reviewed?

• What important things I should be

accomplishing in the first 30, 60 and

90 days on the job?

• What metrics or goals will my

performance be evaluated?

• Will I get formally reviewed?

Make sure you are setting up yourself for success; your goals are important as well as your evaluation

The Team

• Can you tell me about the team I will

be working with?

• How big is the team?

• Is the team expected to grow in the

next months?

• Who will I report to directly?

• Which other departments work most

closely with this one?

• What are the team’s biggest

challenges?

These are the people who you will be working daily, and it can make or break your day. It’s important to ask about it.

• Is there anything that concerns you

about my background being a fit

for this role?

• What are the next steps in the

interview process?

• Is there anything else I can provide

you with that would be helpful?

• Can I answer any final questions

for you?

Important to clear any other doubts or final thoughts before you leave, to be clear on the next steps in the process.

Now that you have shown your potential employer that you are interested, motivated and ambitious, they will

be more comfortable taking the process to the next stage.
