3 Time-Saving Tips to Market Your Store
This Holiday Season
A Gift From
You know the old cliché: The holidays are the most wonderful (and lucrative) time of the year!
Unfortunately, if you’re a retailer, they can also be the most hectic and time-consuming time of year.
SnapRetail understands your busy schedule and we would like to offer some helpful tips to manage your
time and promote your store this holiday season.
In a July survey SnapRetail conducted at AmericasMart, retailers told us that the biggest issue they have with
social media is time. But if you have a good plan in place for the holidays, you won’t need to take a lot of time out of your schedule to maintain a good page.
1. Create a Posting Plan
We recommend posting every day, but not TOO MUCH. Likers will unlike your page if they see that you are posting too much. It is important to at least log on to social media sites once a day in order to check for any comments or questions. Adding weekly product
photos is also another great way to add great content to your page!
• Give a run-down of local events, such as when your town is having Trick-or-Treating, volunteer opportunities, tree lighting ceremonies, etc. Be a local resource and interact within your community by tagging other pages on your Facebook page
• Offer great discounts with coupon codes
• Create an event page for something happening in your store, such as a pumpkin carving contest, caroling party or food drive
• Promote the volunteer efforts of businesses in your area
• Share photos of your holiday displays – Be sure to include keywords in all of your photo captions
Once you have an idea of what you want to post, it’s smart to create a calendar of how you plan to market your store. This will work well with the e-Marketing
Calendar that SnapRetail provides each month to TrafficBuilder subscribers!
Here are some examples of things you can do:

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could be two places at once? That way, you could be at the cash register ringing up holiday purchases AND at your computer monitoring
your social media sites. Luckily, there are tools out there to help you manage your time and marketing
efforts.
2. Schedule!
The first is HootSuite.com, a Social Media Dashboard which allows you to manage Facebook, Twitter,
LinkedIn, Foursquare, WordPress and more from one window. Which networks you connect to is completely
up to you, so if you only have a Facebook page, no worries. You can still take advantage of HootSuite’s
handy Publisher tool.
Once you’ve created a HootSuite account and connected your desired networks to the dashboard, you
can start scheduling right away. Type your message, keeping in mind that you need to promote holiday
events EARLY! You can then click the calendar button which will allow you to schedule the message for
another day and time. You also have the option to get an email once the message is sent!
You have the option to schedule your email campaigns with TrafficBuilder, also. Once you create your custom holiday campaign using our email templates, you can choose to schedule to send the campaign at a later
time.
Don’t forget that once you’ve created your campaign in TrafficBuilder you can also send the campaign to
Facebook so that your fans can view the email online.
If you’re still not sure what to say to your customers, don’t hesitate to ask them! Customers love to share
their feedback and asking them to share their thoughts, photos, video and more is a great way to add content to
your social media sites and start interesting conversations.
3. Let Customers Bring Content to YOU
Try running a contest on a third party application that involves customers adding photos of their best
Halloween costume, favorite holiday dish or their New Year’s resolution.
Ask them what their favorite products are to create more targeted sales or ask to provide a great recipe to be added to a cookbook to be sold in your store! This is
a great time of year to get to know your customers a little bit better and improve your marketing efforts!
