This is a homecoming of sorts for Julia as she is an alumna of the University of Michigan-Dearborn with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. It was her undergrad experience which prompted an initial interest in club sports. She co-founded the Cross Country Club at UM-Dearborn where she served as Club President. Workout  Of  the  Day  (WOD)  –  The  U•FIT  Workout  Of  the  Day  (WOD)  is  a  core  strengthening  and  conditioning  program  that  uses  functional  movements  designed  to  prepare  a  person  for  life  contingencies  through  extremely  varied  and  challenging  workouts.  It  improves  cardiorespiratory  endurance,  stamina,  flexibility,  power,  speed,  coordination,  agility,  balance,  and  accuracy.  Participants  perform  multiple,  diverse,  and  randomized  physical  challenges  that  are  always  changing  to  keep  participants  motivated.  Each  day  the  workout  will  test  a  different  part  of  functional  strength  and  conditioning.  New  participants  start  with  “on  boarding”  WODs.

Gym Etiquette Fitness AssessmentDid you know that there is proper etiquette for using a gym? Being considerateof others and following the rules makes for a more positive experience for all... and it’s the right thing to do! Please make note of the following:

End all activities 15 minutes prior to closing time. This allows for time to shower, change clothes and/or return equipment

so you can exit the building by the building closing time.

PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS! Obscene language, cursing, swearing &other disrespectful language and actions are not allowed. Limit workout time per cardio-machine to 30 minutes. Let others rotate in to use the strength machines by not sitting on equipment or reserving it until you’re ready to use it. No cell phone use while on the strength equipment. Pick-up weights when finishedand wipe down equipment after each use. It’s a small recreational track, so position yourself to allow for the best flow possible - slower users stay tothe outside and faster users to the inside. Avoid standing in the path of othersand traveling more than two abreast.FOR SAFETY SAKE! Wear appropriate clothing and shoes, sandals are not allowed. Beverages in closed containers only (no paper or styrofoam). No dunkingor abusing equipment.

BASKETBALLCourts available on a first-come, first-served basis. The east court features half-courtplay Friday nights and weekends. UM-Flint students, faculty and staff seeking full-court play,may participate in Intramural Sports leagues or inquire in the Business Office.

RACQUETBALL / WALLYBALLFive (5) racquetball courts (two can be set up for wallyball) available free of charge duringall open building hours. Members may reserve one court, for one hour, up to one day inadvance. Make court reservations during Business Office hours, at least two hours priorto the requested reservation. If play has not started by 15 minutes past the reservationtime, the court is turned over to the next waiting guest. Call (810) 762-3441, formore information or to make a reservation.

TENNISAvailable on the west gym court on a first-come, first-serve basis. Use of the tenniscourt at other hours of the day, is at the discretion of the building manager depends onusage by other patrons.

MONDAY-THURSDAY after 8 A.M. & before 5 P.M. Visitor parking is located in theMill Street Parking Deck. Rec Center members & Day Pass users may park anywhere in the parking deck except in otherwise designated spaces.

Handicap Parking Anyone in a handicap designated parking space in a studentdesignated parking lot (i.e., Lot A), requires a handicap permit AND a University permitfor that parking lot. Handicap permit parking is available in the U-Drive in front ofthe Rec Center and in the Mill Street Parking Deck.
