3-D: A unique technique
3-D enhances the illusion of depth perception.
Prominently featured in the 1950’s 3-D’s “Golden Era”
Time goes on
Revival from 1960-1984. Mainstream Resurgence from 2003-
Present. “Avatar” played a huge part in
revitalizing 3D.
The Question Again
3-D: An art form or a gimmick?
Is it the best way to enhance movies?
“Yes” Side
3-D immerses you in the movie. Not just the occasional random object. 3-D is part of cinema’s evolution.
“No” Side
Conversion is a far cry from true 3-D. Reports of motion sickness. IMAX is gaining popularity.
Is this really necessary?
Many older movies are re-released in 3-D. “Titanic 3-D” timed with anniversary of
sinking. Did the rest of these have a good reason?
