First Choice University

I'm going to be completely honest with you; UT Arlington was not my first choice university!

Like so many students I came in with intent to transfer to what I believed to be a better

school. My feelings towards UTA drastically changed when I became involved in student

orgs. I gained leadership experience through my work at Multicultural Affairs. I gained the

opportunity to work alongside upper administration through my work with the Center for

African American Studies.

This year my experience in Congress has allowed me to speak on behalf of students and

propose change. I have voiced concern to President Karbhari about the advising process. I

authored resolutions for: Healthy & less expensive food options, digital bulletin boards for

org. advertisement, campus landmarks for members of Greek life who may not have a house

on Greek row, safe zone nap areas for commuter students to have a place to rest on campus.

I feel more support of students and increased cohesion between Congress and student orgs

will improve the college experience.

Thank you for doing YOUR part in participating in campus elections, I hope you remain

involved by voicing your opinions and ideas to help make UTA a first choice university for all.

(Campus pride) + (Cohesion between Student Orgs & Congress) =

More ideas to produce change on campus and the city of Arlington.

Senator Woolen has voiced concern and supported resolutions to

improve the advising process across campus.

If elected, Senator Woolen will work to improve community

outreach in order to boost the impact UTA has on Dallas-Fort

Worth-Arlington.

Senator Woolen has held leadership roles in a variety of student

orgs. If elected he aspires to strengthen the efforts of student led

orgs & encourage their participation with congress.

Senator Woolen has noticed the of struggles international student

adjusting to campus life and wants to engage the international

students to share their concerns and seek solutions.
