PROJECT M-COMMERCE NEWSLETTER 2 nd Newsletter www.m-commerce.enterprises STUDY ON M-COMMERCE As the first milestone in the project, a study on m-commerce in mostly SME´s in the participating countries was carried out. In total 647 companies took part in the questionnaire. The survey shows, that from the participating companies 34.58% are having a webshop, where products or services are offered online. This provides the primary visibility of e-commerce. If this total is divided among the individual countries, it is evident, that Romania, Slovenia and Spain are well above the average. If a closer look is taken at the relationship between the size of the company, in terms of employees, and the offer of a webshop, it is noticeable that in percentage terms, those companies with 50 to 249 employees are those who have with 42.86% the most common online offers. There is also the desire to advance e-commerce by the modification or introduction of webshops. 36.31% of the companies would like to change their actual webshops or create a new one within the next 12 months. In fact, not every company that offers e-commerce also offers m- commerce services. The result of the questionnaire clearly shows that half of the companies offer m-commerce. With 55.92% (118) of all companies having an online shop also set their focus on users with tablets, smartphones or similar mobile devices. An interesting issue is that in three of the partner countries (Sweden, Romania and Spain) less than 50% of the webshops are optimized for mobile devices ABOUT THE PROJECT In the project m-commerce, the following activities are conducted: Survey of the current status quo of m- commerce in different European regions.
