Management Technical Location Manager – a locations manager is in charge of any filming that takes place outside of a studio set. The locations manager must arrange locations to film on, make sure they are safe to film on and keep them in good condition until they have finished filming. This is a managerial job as no one is higher than this person in terms of location decisions and will have to manage to location once the production is on the location filming. In the day to day duties of this role you would be expected to set up location bookings, manage the locations whilst being used, negotiate location prices. The locations manager will have to report to the Producer, Director and Production Designer about locations.

Boom Operator -Boom Operators works throughout the production process, working under the direction of the Sound Supervisor/Production Mixer to achieve the best quality sound recording. A boom operator has to hold a large recording device above the scene so its close to the performers to get the best sound quality but not too close as they don’t want it in the shot. A boom operator is responsible for a boom microphone, which is either hand-held on a long arm or dolly mounted (on a moving platform).

Creative Financial Make-up Artist – a make-up artist would work for a chief make up artist who controls the make up department. In this role make-up artists would have to create different styles of make up for different performers depending on the production style and the character role. In their day to day duties a make-up artist would normally be given a brief on the style of make up they are going to try and create then the chief make-up artist may give them some pictures of how they want the characters to look alongside some scene breakdowns.

Production Accountant – A production accountant manages all the finance and keeps track of all the money spent on the production. The production accountant will work closely with the producer and production office to prepare budget plans and keep track of all finance. This is a financial role as this persons job is to acknowledge all finance activity in the production. Their day to day duties would include calculating finances, costing productions, discussing with other financiers in the production.

Research Editor

Location Scout – A locations scouts job is to find as many locations as possible and then to report them back to the locations manager and the rest of the locations team. This is a research job as in this role you will not make any final decisions even if you think the location is perfect for the production, in this role you are only required to research locations. Their day to day duties would include researching as many appropriate locations as possible, they may do this by researching online, using location libraries and going to look at locations in person.

Sound Editor – A sound editor creates the soundtrack for the production by cutting and synchronising sound files to the chosen footage. They work closely with the sound designer, re-recording mixer and the director to find out what sounds are required, where they can get them from and if any new sounds are needed. In their day to day duties a sound editor would look for appropriate sounds for the production from wild tracks, dialogue tracks, library material and foley. They would then spend a lot of time making sure the sound is in the right place at the right time then they would give it to the re-recording mixer for final sound balance.

Organizational AdministrativeStunt Coordinator – A stunt coordinator is in charge of setting up and organizing all stunts on set. This is an organizational role as the stunt coordinator is in charge of setting up and organizing all the stunts on set. The stunt coordinator will have to talk to the stunt driver or any performers who will be taking part during the filming of the stunt. Their day to day duties will include setting up everything needed for the stunt, making sure everything meets the health and safety standards and talking to all cast and crew involved in the stunt.

Runner – A runner does a number of small tasks on set for production assistant or the production manager. Depending on how big the production is there could be a head runner and a team of runners he has to manage. Their day to day duties include doing any random small tasks for the production assistant and any of the cast and crew who need help on set. This is an organizational role as your main tasks will be helping others to get there area organized and ready for filming.

Post-production Glenn Freemantle

Glenn Freemantle is now one of Great Britain's most experienced sound designers, with over 70 films to his credit, Glenn Freemantle began work in the cutting rooms at the age of sixteen. Over the past 30 years he has produced soundtracks for films from all over the world, working with some of the industries best known directors. He has worked on a huge amount of films including 'Yentl' (1983), Legend (1985), 'Little Buddha' (1993) and 'Backbeat' (1994), to 'Hackers (1995), 'Wing Commander' (1999) and 'The Beach' (1999) then onto the two Bridget Jones movies in 2001 and 2004, 'Love Actually' (2003) and, in the last few years 'V for Vendetta' (2005), '28 weeks Later' (2007), 'Sunshine' (2007), 'Golden Compass' (2007) and 'Slumdog Millionaire' (2008). Freemantle is passionate for sound for film, Glenn has been careful to surround himself with a core team who can work together under his guidance to produce world class sound in film. Pre-Production Michael Westmore Michael Westmore is a famous American make up artist most well known for his work in various Star Trek productions. He has won nine Emmy Awards and won the Academy Award for his make up on the film Mask in 1985. He is part of the famous Westmore family who have had four generations who have worked as make-up artists in the Hollywood film industry. He began his career in 1961 at Universal Studios and has carried on doing make-up for four decades since, even working for the CIA at one point to create disguises for spies overseas. Production William "Bill" Hickman William Hickman was a famous stunt driver, stunt coordinator and actor from the 1950s to the late 1970s. Hickman was famous for creating three of the greatest movie car chase sequences of all time in the following films; Bullitt, The French Connection and The Seven-Ups which were all shot on actual city streets. William Hickman got his first stunt related job in a movie as he had such great expertise in motorcycles and cars. “His legacy is some unforgettable films with some of the best examples of car control ever to be seen on screen”
