Already in the 90’s and it’s only the beginning of June! But that’s not stopping your Chamber from putting on some great events while the Executive Board and Staff start planning for the next year (yes, we start this early!). With summertime upon us and the kids getting out of school, lookout for increased traffic on the local waterways, roads, and other recreational areas. Get out there and enjoy what the Clear Lake Area has to offer and support your local businesses during the summer (#buyintobayarea)! Also, be thinking about safety in your summer activities. Whether being out on the lake or bay in a boat or personal watercraft or simply thinking about prepping for hurricane season which runs June 1st through November 30th! First up in the chute is our annual “No Experience Necessary” Bowling Tournament at AMF Lanes in Webster on June 7th. All lanes are sold out but there are still opportunities to donate a door prize or otherwise sponsor something at the Tournament. Contact the Chamber Staff quickly to donate something! In August we will be having our Membership Campaign – “Boots on the Ground” to drive and increase membership in your Chamber. Last year, because of Hurricane Harvey, the membership campaign was cancelled in response to meeting the needs of our members with recovery. This did put a dent in membership this past year as many businesses and/or their families dealt with recovering from the flooding and loss of revenue associated with storm. Come support the Membership Campaign by becoming a part of a team or letting us know if you have a friend, client, or vendor that would like to become a member of this great Chamber! Great door prizes will be available for those on a team so contact the Staff to get on a team! And save the date, October 5th, for the Annual Chairman’s Ball at the Lonestar Flight Museum at Ellington Field. All the best, Bryan D Bogle Chairman of the Board General Manager- Key IT Systems
