    %f the networ" proposes optional support of both transparent and non transparent connection elements- but does notindicate a user information layer * protocol- the M! shall set the appropriate value- if choosin non transparent in the

    dditionally the values of the parameters structure- modem type and intermediate rate have to be set in conformance

    with the values of the parameters radio channel re8uirements- neotiation of intermediate rate re8uested and connectionelement.

    01 information (sinle or multiple 017%2). The M! may use the information provided in the 01$=P 01information element (see 3GPP T! *,.++6 and 3GPP T! *:.++?) to deduce the re8uested service. &ote- that the

    presence of the 01$=P 017%2 does not chane the condition of Hno 017%2 receivedH- that means in particularthat the M! shall include any 017%2 (as mentioned before) and shall not neotiate parameter values where the
