You are Invited Course DescriptionsDifferent People, Different Styles

Improve your communication skills, increase your understanding, or just learn a little more about yourself and others. During this interactive workshop, participants will gain insights into their own communication style as well as the styles of others. We’ll use that insight to consider ways to adjust our styles so we can work more effectively with others. Participants will leave with skills they can start using immediately!

Medicare Discharge Planning

This session will review the process of Medicare discharge planning including government rules and regulations. Mr. Harrison is a Certified Elder Law Attorney

with valuable information to share.

Psychiatric Hospitalization Process for Individuals With A Guardian

A thorough review of the process for psychiatric hospitalization for individuals with a guardian. This session will include the voluntary and involuntary hospitalization process as well as a guardians role and responsibilities in hospitalization.

The Mental Health Code, Psychology and Guardianship In The State of Michigan

Dr. Tranberg’s presentation will cover the necessary components of a Psychological Evaluation mandated by the Michigan Mental Health Code when guardianship services are requested and will review the concepts of Full versus Partial Guardianship in the context of restrictive interventions.

Conservatorship 101 And Then Some !

Conservatorship 101 is an hour and a half presentation of the basics. The Petition process through the First Annual Account. Receive checklists for each phase of a Conservatorship Estate. Discussion of needed protocols for marshaling, tracking, check writing, and proofing assets of the Estate. Emphasis given to the Annual Account protocol with problem areas highlighted. Practice tips and ideas for different approaches to particular situations.

Conference Registration: Please register by October 18th. Complete the conference registration form and return as indicated. Each attendee must submit a complete form. Fees include tuition, educational materials, snacks and meals.

Refunds and Cancellations: Requests for refunds will be honored when received by October 18th. No refunds will be made after October 18th. There is a $25.00 administration fee for each refund; substitutions may be made at any time. We do accept walk-in registrations.

Continuing Education: MGA will provide a signed certificate of attendance for approximately 7+ clock hours for each participant.

Dietary Requirements: MGA makes every effort to provide meals that accommodate the dietary requirements of our members. If you have a request please be sure to communicate so on your registration form. If you have questions, concerns or specific directions for the preparation of your meal please contact the MGA administrator Sara Dziurman.

Lodging Information: Our conference will be held at the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Conference Center. We STRONGLY recommend that you make reservations as soon as possible. Room availability cannot be guaranteed after October 1st. See the hotel accommodations page in this brochure.
