Details of the Event:

The ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ (victory flame) to mark the golden jubilee of India’s success in

liberating Bangladesh from Pakistan in 1971 was brought to the IFTM University, Moradabad.

Commanding officer of 346 field regiment Colonel K. Shehnaz, Vice Chancellor Prof. M.P.

Pandey, Registrar Prof. Sanjeev Agarwal, Additional District Magistrate Laxmi Shankar Singh,

City Magistrate Mahendra Pal Singh, Additional City Magistrate Mr. Prabuddh Singh, Lt. Col.

R. Shreeganesh, Captain Mukesh Dutt, Subedar Iqbal Singh, Veer Naari Najma and other

dignitaries of IFTM University, Indian Army, Subedar Major and other PI staff of 9 UP Girls Bn.

and 24 UP Bn. of NCC welcomed the victory flame and offered “Pushpa Chakra” to Amar

Shaheed on Victory Flame. Colonel K. Shehnaz’s wife Mrs. Tehseen Fatima offered presents to

the wives and family members of Amar Shaheed.

The victory flame was lit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 16, 2020 from the

eternal flame of the national war memorial, New Delhi. This marked the beginning of the 50th

anniversary celebrations of India’s victory over Pakistan, which led to the liberation of

Bangladesh.It was an effort made to recognise and honour the velour, bravery and sacrifices of

the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 war and an opportunity to rejoice as

well as celebrate the occasion throughout the country with full fervor.

NCC cadets graced the event by singing the NCC Song “Hum Sab Bhartiya Hain” and also

presented a beautiful dance performance which filled everyone’s heart with joy. A short film

based on India’s victory in 1971 war was also showed. JRC band of Indian army made the

environment melodious by playing our “Rashtragaan” and “SaareJhan se Achcha Hindustan

Hamara” song. Everyone present at the function was filled with a felling of patriotism, joy and

proud of being an India.

Dr. Rajkumari Singh, Dr. Shilpi Gupta and Dr. Yogendra Singh have motivated the NCC cadets

to ensure successful conduction of program.

From IFTM University, the victory flame was taken to Rampur.

Purpose:

Swaarn Jayanti Divas was celebrated with lots of enthusiasm. As it commemorates the valour

and sprit of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their life for the sake of our beloved nation.

Outcome:

Army Personnels, Administrations Moradabad, NCC Cadets and whole IFTM Familly paid

tribute to our “Amar Veer Shaheed” as well as their family members were honored. Every

corners of the university and every heart present there were filled with patriotism.
