Pew Packers meets TONIGHT following our evening worship service for a time of singing, learning, and laughing with Blake and Dave. We’ll have it immediately following our evening worship service...all are invited to come…don’t worry kids, there will be plenty of candy to share with you for coming. Can’t wait to see you there!

As we continue to offer ways to try and strengthen marriages here at Rainbow, we are excited to tell

you about a marriage Bible class which will begin Sunday, March 3rd. Blake Jones will be teaching this

class in the old fellowship hall. He will be using the material entitled Marriage Matters by Jerry &

Lynn Jones. This will be a very in-depth study of a very important topic. We hope that if you are mar-

ried or are planning on getting married one day that you will take advantage of this opportunity and be

an active member of this Bible class. We will be telling you more about this class in the weeks to

come. But for now, mark your calendars and plan on being a part of this spiritual and practical class on

marriage.

On Sunday, February 24th, following our evening worship service everyone who is celebrating a

wedding anniversary (and their kids 18 and under) along with anyone who is single (never married,

divorced, widow or widower and their kids 18 and under) who is celebrating a birthday this month

are invited over to Blake, Rebekah, and David’s house for dinner.

The evening is more about fellowship than food and if you can come, they would be honored by your

presence. But if you can’t make it, they completely understand.

Youth Spring Retreat It’s almost time for one of our teenager’s favorite yearly trips, the spring retreat! Each year during spring break, we take the teenagers up to Gatlinburg, TN to take a break from the world around us. We use this time to grow closer to one another and more importantly, God. We are so blessed to be able to do something like this with our youth. We want to thank the Elders for their support and always seeing the need for this trip! If your teenager is interested in going, there is a sign-up sheet in the teen room. The cost is $50 per person plus money for two meals. Please have the money in by March 10th.

Dates: March 29th-31st Cost: $50 plus two meals Vista Hermosa Manor 2901 Old Valley Road Sevierville, TN 37862.

On Sunday, February 17th, following our evening

worship service the McCarver Visitation Team

will be meeting at the home of Chris & Ann

Mikle. The supper will be an Italian feast so see

Ann Mikle or Della McCarver to find out what you

need to bring. If you are not a part of a visitation

team we would love for you to join us on the 17th!

Rainbow is establishing a medical emergency

response team. We are looking for trained

personnel (nurses, doctors, paramedics, etc.)

to assist with this. If you would like to and are

able to help with this project, there will be a

meeting tonight, Sunday, February 17th im-

mediately following our evening worship ser-

vice. If you have questions in regards to this

see Charles Clifton or Stanley Stroup.

Our iDisciplettes ministry will be having their next devotional at the home of Beth Blisard

on Saturday, February 23rd at 6 pm. If you have any questions see Kelli East.

Our iDisciple ministry will be having their next devotional on Sunday, February 24th, following our evening worship service at the home of Jeff & Debbie McGlaughn. If you have any questions about this see Mark Westcott

Each month our Elders take a turn sharing the responsibility of “Elder of the Month”. During that month,

that Elder is the contact person for our flock for any needs that they might have. During the month of

February Norman Flynn is the “Elder of the Month” you can reach him at (256) 413-1688 (James 5:14)

This past Sunday, February 10th, our own Jenna Mullins was featured in the Gadsden Times. They wrote a great

story in regards to her awesome academic achievement. Jenna is a 2010 graduate of both Hokes Bluff High School

and Gadsden State Community College (thanks to dual enrollment). This past December she graduated from Auburn

University at the age of only 20 years old. She has already taken the test for admission into law school at the

University of Alabama. We are proud of Jenna and her great accomplishments!

The year end financial report for 2012 is now available. You can pick up a copy on the bookcase outside of the church office.

Thank you all so much for your continued financial support of the Lord’s work here at Rainbow. May we all continue to give

back to Him as we should. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also

reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a

cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will

abound in every good work” (II Corinthians 9:6-8)

We are in the process of making sure that our church directory/data base is up to date and we need your help

with this. If you have not already done so, please stop by the table in the main hall way and pick up an infor-

mation sheet, fill it out, and place it in the basket on the table. Your help with this is greatly appreciated and will

ultimately help us in improving our overall communication within our family here at Rainbow. Thank you so

much!

This past Sunday, February 10th, a

tornado ripped through Hattisburg, MS leaving much damage and destruction

in its path. Larry Naler is now in the

process of finding out what we can do to be of assistance. As soon as he finds

out, we will let you know. Hattisburg is the home of Southern Miss University, where

our own Collin Jarbo is a student. Fortunately, Collin was in

Gadsden when the Tornado came through. Let’s all keep the people of Hattisburg in our prayers as they go through a time

of recovery.

Happy 35th Anniversary to our auditorium! 35 years ago the first

worship service was held in our auditorium and 282 people were

present. There were 18 responses for prayers that day and one

baptism, Ronny Dodson. Since that first worship service there

have been countless numbers of people who have sat in here and

heard the gospel and who knows how many have walked these isles responding to the Lord’s invitation, not to mention all of

those who may never have responded publicly, but decided to

make necessary changes in their lives due to what they had heard from God’s word.

Through the years there have been many changes...carpets, light fixtures, new uphol-

stery on the pews, and the addition of the power point projector...but the auditorium

continues to serve the same purpose it always has, a comfortable place for us to assem-

ble and worship our Lord in truth and spirit. 35 years (and counting) of excellence!

Congratulations Colton Clifton!

This past Monday, February 11th, Colton Clifton

pitched in his first collegiate baseball game for

Snead State and won the game! We are all very

excited for and proud of Colton for this accom-

plishment. Who knows, one day we may see him

playing major league ball.

Colton is a wonderful Christian young man and we

are all very proud of him and his success.

With tax time just around the corner, if you haven’t already gotten your contributions sheet for 2012 there is a sign up sheet in the hallway. Once they have been printed they are

placed in an envelope with your name on it, on the table in the main hallway. If we can be of any further assistance to you in regards to this, just contact the church office. Thank you!

Congratulations Jenna Mullins!

On February 21st, 2013 Eugene & Barbara Brown will be celebrating their

56th Wedding Anniversary! That is wonderful! In a world where marriages

come and go, how wonderful it is to see people stay faithful to one another

and to our God. While 55 is the Emerald Anniversary the 56th Anniversary

has not been given it’s proper distinction, but it is truly a tremendous achieve-

ment and is worthy of recognition. . Happy Anniversary!

Eugene Brown had a request for baptism this past week! The student lives in Burlington, NC and the church there has

already been contacted about this request. We ask that you join us in prayer as we hope for great results. Thanks to all of

our WBS teachers for their continued efforts in teaching the gospel. If you would like to join our awesome army of teach-ers in this soul saving work, just see Milton McArthur.
