DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY—This is a 2-day joint meeting that includes CME/CE credits designed for oncology physicians, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, as well as other healthcare professionals involved in the management of cancer patients. Great Strides Together is a continuing education event well established in the state of Florida. Based on evaluations from the previous 10 consecutive years, this meeting has been able to deliver a state-of-the-art educational experience and hence, provide healthcare professionals with the tools to offer the best quality of care to their patients. The Rapid Integration program will focus on new to oncology practitioners, integrating major advances in basic sciences and how to apply them into the routine clinical practice, and hence, to deliver a more personalized medicine to our patients. The schedule will include 30-45 minute presentations from speakers from a variety of practices to teach basic skills that are important for the new practitioner in a hematology and/or medical oncology practice that will lead to rapid integration into the oncology workforce. CONFERENCE OUTCOME MEASURES—Participants should be able to apply the knowledge acquired during this conference to improve their competence, performance, and/or patient outcomes in the daily treatment of their patients. To measure attendees perceptions of these gains, they will complete an evaluation form after the conference. OBJECTIVES

• Recognize the benefits of a collaborative approach using MDs, PAs, NPs, PharmDs, & RNs to provide quality patient cancer care and management.

• Discuss disease specific information and innovative treatment modalities.

• Participate in an organized state-wide initiative/network of PAs, NPs, and RNs in oncology/hematology and other disciplines.

• Describe the roles of NPs, PAs, PharmDs, and RNs within healthcare reform.

• Discover the benefits of the team approach to the care of cancer patients utilizing interdisciplinary methods to improve access to care and patient satisfaction.
