Master of Engineering (Electrical) The Master of Engineering (Electrical) programme aims to train engineering graduates to design sustainable systems for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution with improved operational safety and efficiency while incorporating renewable energy to address the escalating demand. Programme Structure
The programme comprises of a coursework component and a project. The coursework component consists of 6 core courses and 3 electives assessed by a combination of continuous assessments and examinations. Continuous assessment includes individual and group assignment works, case studies, laboratory and tests.
Who Should Enrol
The Master of Engineering (Electrical) is open to professionals who would like to acquire interdisciplinary skills to add value in their current professional or aim for career advancement to executive level. It serves as a path for engineers who would like to register with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) under the electrical discipline.
A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields with CGPA of 2.75 and above or equivalent as approved by the Senate; or
A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields with CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than CGPA of 2.75, or equivalent as approved by the Senate subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTAR and meet the minimum CGPA set out in (1) & (2).
