HEAT PUMPS

While all heat pumps offer sustainable, dynamic heating or cooling for your swimming pool, none offer the same energy savings and reduced running costs as our Calorex range.

Our heat pump systems provide total temperature control all year round, working at temperatures as low as -15°C for both indoor and outdoor pools. This versatility and reliability across our range ensures your water remains at the optimal warmth, whether you run a busy leisure park, a soothing spa, or are taking care of your own pool at home.

As well as effortless heating and cooling, Calorex heat pumps can save you up to 75% on both operating costs and carbon savings against electric heaters, offering a solution that is as economic as it is effective.

Note: For the above illustration, the primary (heat pump) circuit must be charged with a glycol solution. This would be around 25-30% (UK) or up to 40-50% for cooler countries.

For water temperatures higher than 10°C the Calorex heat pump can be installed as a direct system, ie the cross plate heat exchanger is not required.

DEHUMIDIFIERS

When moisture is left unchallenged, this can present a major problem for an indoor pool.

Not only does it create an uncomfortable atmosphere for swimmers and bathers, but the growth of mould is encouraged and structural damage can leave your pool area looking less than luxurious. Our pool dehumidifiers physically remove moisture from the air to ensure the environment stays controlled and your home pool projects are protected.

DH 75-110AX are floor-standing high performance and high capacity dehumidifiers. With high moisture extraction for low energy use, as well as being corrosion free and easy to clean, they are ideal for keeping your swimming pool environment healthy the humidity under control. Options are also available for additional air heating, and through-the-wall installation that can be situated adjacent to the pool hall.

Each Calorex unit includes an adjustable humidistat controlling relative humidity (RH) in the ideal range of 55% – 65%. With RH under control, condensation can be minimised by selecting the most appropriate installation from the schematics shown on the next page. Note: vulnerable areas such as windows, roof lights or other cold bridges may form condensation at low external air temperatures unless dry air is blown directly onto them.

AIR HANDLING UNITS

High levels of relative humidity can be extremely damaging to a pool environment, but with a carefully designed ventilation solution, humidity is kept at a comfortable level.

A swimming pool environmental control unit must carry out its primary task of dehumidifying the pool space air, be designed and constructed to withstand the pool air environment, and provide a continuously modulated quantity of heated or cooled fresh air for the comfort of all who use it. We can advise on the most effective domestic or commercial pool ventilation products from our selection of heat pump and fresh air technologies.

Condensation dehumidifier

The process of dehumidification involves moisture-laden air (return air) being drawn into a dehumidifier where the air passes across a refrigerated coil. The air is rapidly cooled below its dew point, condensing the water vapour and recovering its latent heat energy for re-use. The cooled air is then passed across the condenser where it is reheated and (supply air) returned to the served area at the required lower humidity.

Adsorption dehumidifier

The air to be dehumidified (process air), passes through a slowly rotating silica gel rotor. The desiccant material attracts the moisture to its surface, removing it from the air stream (dry air). A second, smaller air stream (reactivation air) usually heated to around 120°C, is required to remove the moisture from the rotor. This (wet) air must then be exhausted to atmosphere using a duct. Slowly rotating the rotor through both air-streams creates a continuous dehumidification process.

WATER HEATING & COOLING

A Calorex hot water heat pump extracts up to five times as much energy as it consumes from the air and upgrades it to heat water in a range of commercial applications. Calorex heat pumps are specifically designed to maximise the benefits offered by the climate in the Middle East and South-East Asia.

Storing water is a great way to use a natural resource to your advantage, whether that’s for gardening, showering or for washing your car. But without an effective water cooling solution during warmer months, your tank will heat up and facilitate the growth of bacteria and algae, thus compromising the safety of the water coming through your taps. Calorex water cooling chillers eliminate the issue. Our robust water coolers come in domestic, commercial and industrial sizes for use in buildings, commercial spaces and facilities management applications.
