Special Volunteer Remembrance
Vijay Kumar Scholarship
Vijay Kumar joined PMI in 1990 and was certified before the first PMBoK edition!
He volunteered with PMI-LA for 24 years, serving on several boards until his
passing in 2015. Since then, if the chapter has funding, we honor his memory
with annual scholarships to help chapter members in their pursuit of learning.
Kerry Plinton “Fun” Day
Kerry Plinton started volunteering in 2007 and served in several volunteer and
board positions. He brought buffets to the Flagship, and Networking events to
Membership. To honor his passing in 2016, we celebrate with a fun event for the
members.
Note: Due to COVID-19, these events were not held in 2020.
2020 Lee Mandley Volunteer of the Month RecipientsDeby added
Founding Director of the PMI-LA Alhambra Community Meeting, Lee was the voice
of the San Gabriel Valley members. He was the first to introduce round table
topics and volunteered until his passing in 2011. Since 2012, we have presented
this award to a volunteer who helps ensure operations are running smoothly and
has “out-of-the-box” thinking.
