What is Deck the Hall? Deck the Hall is a holiday display
located at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, historic estate of the
family of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of the Goodyear Tire &
Rubber Company. Ranked one of the Best Holiday Historic Home Tours
by USA Today and voted one of the top 100 holiday events by the
American Bus Association in 2016, Deck the Hall features over one
million lights on display throughout outdoor grounds, a Dazzle
light show spectacular animated to music, display windows in the
Courtyard, the popular Playgarden decorated and “dressed up for the
season” as Gingerbread Land, and a self-guided Manor House tour of
the decorated rooms on the first floor. Santa is also available for
photographs with children, appearing on Deck the Hall evenings
through December 23.

What are the times of Deck the Hall?
Deck the Hall is open from 5pm - 8pm.
Last admission is at 8pm when the front gate will close for the
evening.
The outdoor grounds will remain open until 9pm.
What are the fees for Deck the Hall?

What COVID safety precautions are in place during this year’s
event?For the health and safety of all guests, staff and
volunteers, this year’s Deck the Hall will include limited nightly
ticketed capacity. All tickets must be purchased in advance online
at www.stanhywet.org/events or by calling the ticket office at
330.315.3287. Guests should be prepared to have tickets scanned
directly from their device, or bring printed tickets for scanning
upon arrival.
There will be a limited number of people permitted at one time
in all buildings including the Manor House, Conservatory holiday
plant sales, and Molly’s Shop. Family groups are requested to abide
by the six-foot social distancing rule at all times during their
visit.
To avoid larger gatherings and ensure appropriate spacing for
families, the tree-lighting ceremony with Santa in the Courtyard
has been postponed this year. The large tree will be brightly
decorated, and Santa will be available for photos with families in
Rudolph’s Corral with a plexiglass barrier in place. The Corbin
Conservatory will not feature a poinsettia tree this year to avoid
any unnecessary crowding, and the Playgarden will not feature a
snowglobe this year to avoid any close gathering in an enclosed
space.
Facial coverings are required by all guests while waiting in
lines, inside ALL buildings (including for use of restrooms), and
outside when 6’ social distancing is not possible. Exceptions for
facial coverings are permitted for those recommended per CDC
guidelines.

arrive?No. For the health and safety of all guests, attendance

How late may I purchase a ticket in advance for Deck the

What does my Deck the Hall ticket include?Tickets are
all-inclusive for Deck the Hall offerings. Guests may enjoy lighted
displays outside, the Dazzle light show spectacular, display
windows in the Courtyard, Gingerbread Land, and a visit with Santa
(appearing on Deck the Hall evenings through December 23). Tickets
also include a self-guided Manor House tour of the decorated rooms

Does my Deck the Hall ticket include daytime admission to Stan
Hywet?No. Deck the Hall tickets are only valid from 5-8pm. Daytime
tickets for visits during regular December hours of 1-4pm are
available for purchase in admissions upon arrival.
Can I purchase a “combo” ticket for a daytime self-guided tour
and Deck the Hall?No. Deck the Hall and daytime self-guided tours
are two separate events and require separate admissions. Deck the
Hall tickets must be purchased in advance online at stanhywet.org
or by calling the ticket office at 330.315.3287. Daytime
self-guided tour tickets may be purchased upon arrival.
Can I purchase a ticket to be used on any evening of Deck the
Hall?No. Deck the Hall tickets are dated and are non-refundable and
non-transferable. If you are interested in purchasing tickets as a
gift, please consider purchasing a gift certificate through
tickets.stanhywet.org or onsite at the admissions office during
regular hours.
What do I do with my Deck the Hall ticket?Guests should be
prepared to present their pre-purchased tickets on their smart
device for scanning upon arrival to Deck the Hall. Alternatively,
guests may print paper tickets to present for scanning upon
arrival. Is there a drive-through ticket option for Deck the
Hall?No, there is no drive-through or grounds-only ticket option.

Are group discounts available for Deck the Hall? How do I
purchase?Yes, group pricing is available. Group tours must be
booked at least 2 weeks in advance and have a minimum of 10 guests.
Group Inquiries should be directed to the Group Sales Specialist at

during normal business hours, Monday-Friday. Payment is required
upon the group booking.
Are there any additional special event opportunities during Deck
the Hall?Yes. There are two event experiences during 2020’s Deck
the Hall:Dinner and Deck the Hall is an evening experience with a
served buffet, alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, and Deck the
Hall self-guided tour. This year’s dates are December 3, 4, 10, 11,
17 & 18. Limited capacity for the health and safety of guests

The Cleveland Ballet will perform The Little Nutcracker during
an evening experience with a plated dinner, alcoholic or
non-alcoholic beverage, one-hour ballet performance, and Deck the
Hall self-guided tour. This year’s event is scheduled for the
evening of Sunday, December 6. Limited capacity for the health and
safety of guests, staff and ballet company. Please remember that

What should I wear to Deck the Hall?While there are some indoor
portions of Deck the Hall, most of the event is an outdoor walking
experience with various elevations taking place during various
weather conditions. Please dress for the weather and wear
comfortable shoes/boots and plan for a 60-minute outdoor
experience. Remember to bring facial coverings which are required
while waiting in line for admissions, concessions, or visits with
Santa, inside ALL buildings including restrooms, and outside when
6’ social distancing is not possible.
Can I exchange my ticket for another date if it is raining or
snowing?No. Deck the Hall is an indoor and outdoor experience that
takes place in all Ohio weather. Deck the Hall tickets are dated
and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Is Deck the Hall wheelchair accessible?The first floor of the
Manor House is wheelchair accessible. As a historic estate, the
outdoor grounds are not completely wheelchair accessible, however
most areas on the estate are accessible near paved pathways that
will be plowed as best as possible during inclement weather. For

Where is Stan Hywet located?Stan Hywet Hall & Garden is
located at 714 North Portage Path in Akron. The front gate is
located at the intersection of North Portage Path and Garman Rd.,
and will open at 4:30pm for entry into Deck the Hall. Last
admission is at 8pm when the front gate will close for the
evening.
Where do I park?After entering the front gate at the
intersection of North Portage Path and Garman Rd., follow the drive
and Guest Service Staff instructions as free parking is available
in the main lot. Alternate free parking is available on
neighborhood streets around the Stan Hywet estate. Guest parking on
city streets must please follow all parking regulations as governed
by the City of Akron.
Will Santa be available for photographs?Yes. Santa will be
available in Rudolph’s Corral in the Courtyard from 5-8pm for photo
opportunities during Deck the Hall evenings through December 23.
Guests may take photos with their own devices at no additional
charge. For the health and safety of Santa and our guests, there
will not be a tree-lighting in the Courtyard this year to avoid a
larger gathering. We also ask that families abide by the photo
opportunity set up in place, and sit adjacent to Santa maintaining
the plexiglass barrier in between. Please do not approach closely
to Santa as Santa and Rudolph must also practice safe social
distancing.
Will the Manor House be open?Yes. The Manor House will be open
for self-guided tours of the first floor and will feature decorated
rooms inspired by this year’s theme, A Very Merry Christmas.
Limited capacity for the health and safety of guests, and no food
or beverage permitted inside the museum. Please remember that
facial coverings are required inside all buildings. The first floor
of the Manor House is wheelchair accessible.

When do the Dazzle light show spectacular shows take
place?Dazzle is an outdoor light show animated to music that begins
at 5:40pm and runs every 20 minutes. The last show begins at
8:40pm.
Is Molly’s Café Open?No. Molly’s Café will not be open during
Deck the Hall. However, café items will be available for purchase
outside in the Courtyard at the Salty Reindeer and Gingerbread
Hut.
Are concessions available for purchase?Yes. Concessions are
available for purchase in the outdoor Courtyard, including Stan
Hywet’s famous hot, hot, hot gingerbread cookies! The Salty
Reindeer features adult beverages (beer, wine) and salty treats
like popcorn and hot pretzels. The Gingerbread Hut features hot,
fresh-baked individual gingerbread cookies or frozen gingerbread
dough to take home, hot chocolate, coffee, and a variety of Molly’s
Café items.
Is Molly’s Shop open?Yes. Molly’s Shop will be open for unique
holiday gifts, seasonal décor and fashion. Limited capacity for the
health and safety of guests. Please remember that facial coverings
are required inside all buildings.
Are holiday plants available for purchase?Yes. Poinsettias and
other holiday plants are available for purchase in the Corbin
Conservatory.
Is the Corbin Conservatory open?The Corbin Conservatory will be
open for access to restrooms and the holiday plant sale only.
Limited capacity for the health and safety of guests and the
Conservatory will not feature a poinsettia tree this year to avoid
any unnecessary crowding. Please remember that facial coverings are
required inside all buildings.
Is the Playgarden open?Playgarden will be open for one-way
walk-through tours only as it is decorated and ‘dressed up for the
season’ as Gingerbread Land. For the health and safety of guests,
Gingerbread Land will not feature a snowglobe this year to avoid
any close gathering in an enclosed space.
Please note Stan Hywet is a historic estate – self-guided tours
may include long periods of walking, standing, uneven pavement and
stairs. Please watch your step. From time to time, photos will be
taken of guests visiting Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Stan
