Teacher’s Day Celebration (Sept. 5)
Red Roses Public School celebrated Teacher’s Day with great pomp and show. The
celebration started with a speech by Sakshi Tyagi of class XB. Teachers of classes Nursery-
XII and ‘Neev’ were felicitated with ‘Thank You’ cards. Dhairya Aggarwal of class VB recited
a poem. A melodious ‘mash up’ song by Rimjhim and Aditi Mangla of class XIC, speech by
Pahulpreet Singh of class IIIB; a wonderful
band performance by Akshat Diwedi, Aman
Singh Aswal, Vikas Chandra and Divyansh
Goel of class XII were presented by the
students.
Some of the proud moments of the celebration were - Vice-Principal Mr. N.S. Yadav winning the National Teacher’s Award sponsored by CED Foundation Trust; Mrs. Dharitri Jena getting the ‘Nation
Builder Teacher’s Award’ by Rotary Club of New Delhi and conferring of Teacher Par Excellence’ Award by IIHM on Mrs. Stuti Kumar, In charge Pre-Primary Wing.
The most breathtaking moments, however, were the announcement of the ‘Favourite Teacher Award’ for Ms. Mahima Chutani from classes III-V, Mrs. Neelima from classes VI-VIII and Mrs. Navneet Boonga from classes IX-XII by Principal Ma’am.
The teachers had their day out at The Grand Venice Mall, Greater Noida.

Purity in Environment (September 6)
Inspired by PM’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’, students of
class XI organised a special assembly to promote cleanliness
for a healthy society.
Students were made aware about the important practices
to be followed for a hygienic and healthy environment. They
were asked to maintain personal hygiene by keeping nails
clipped and follow hand washing with soap before taking
meals; while maintaining environmental cleanliness by
putting the waste in the dustbin. The assembly ended on a
positive note with students taking a pledge to devote 100 hours annually for maintaining
cleanliness.
Hindi Recitation (September 16)
The topic was 'Humare Tyohaar’ for Intra-Class Hindi Recitation held for classes I and II.
Children recited the poems enthusiastically. They also used props to signify the festival.
Winners from each section were asked to present their poems on the stage during
assembly.

Handwashing Day (Sept. 16)
Classes I and II were demonstrated the
benefits of maintaining hygiene and
correct way of washing hands. Teachers
Mrs. Lily Margret and Mrs. Aparna Singh
told them to follow step by step approach
of first wetting the hands; taking a drop of
handwash; rubbing the palms together;
lathering within the fingers and on both
sides; cleaning around the nails; and
lastly, rinsing with water and wiping them
clean with towel.
The children were asked to follow the instructions and repeat the same on stage for their
class fellows to see. This way, they learnt to clean their hands and keep them germ free.

Generation Global Workshop (Sept. 25)
35 student members of
Generation Global Club
from classes IX-XII
attended a workshop on
‘Video Conferencing’
conducted by Ms.
Ghanpriya Elangbam,
Indian coordinator of
Tony Blair Institute of
Global Change.
On being asked what
changes they would like
to bring about, students came up with ideas like protection of environment, eradication of
poverty and corruption, and control of population. Another activity was on dialogue
delivery.
Two groups namely -‘Dialogue is’ and the ‘Dialogue is not’ were made. As per their
response to the statements asked, students moved to either of the two groups. This activity
helped them to improve their critical thinking skills. Another activity aimed at
differentiating between climate and weather. Students also made a spiderweb on ‘Climate

Change’ with five given sub-topics. At the end of the workshop, students shared initiatives
that can be taken to curb global climate change.
Video-Conferencing on Climate Change ( Sept. 30)
Facilitated by Salsabeel Sarakbhi, Ghanapriya Elangbam, Indian coordinator of Tony Blair
Institute of Global Change and Mrs. Shalini Bhatnagar, HOD Computers, 26 students of
classes IX-XII of ‘Generation Global Club’ participated in a video conference on ‘Climate
Change’ with students of Camino a la Cima School, Bogota, Columbia.
The conference began by asking the
effects of climate change. The Indians
students spoke about rising
temperature, diseases and irregular
rain patterns. whereas Colombian
students talked about the significant
harm to the wildlife, and then
proceeded to talk about the measures
to reduce global warming. Colombian
students focused on spreading
awareness and planting more trees
and cleaning neighborhood; Indian students talked about rainwater harvesting, waste
water recycling and afforestation. They also talked about the odd-even rule and cracker-
less Diwali.
On being asked about
the wildlife, the
Colombians informed
that many species have
been lost to rising
temperature and
Amazon forest fire.
They too asked how
India plans to control
global warming caused by industrialization. At the end of the Conference, it was
generalized that both countries had common problems and similar solutions to curb it.

Ganesh Chaturthi (Sept. 2)
'Ganesh Chaturthi' also known as 'Vinayaka Chaturthi' was
celebrated with great fervour and joy. Students were
informed about significance of the festival and also told
about ‘visarjan’ of eco-friendly Lord Ganesha. Students
enjoyed the activities of drawing, colouring, leaf-printing
and clay modelling to make ‘Ganesha’.
Teacher's Day (Sept. 5)
Teacher's Day was celebrated to mark the birth of Dr. Radhakrishnan and express gratitude
to teachers for their support and guidance. Students made beautiful bouquet, decorated
it and presented cards to their respective class teachers.
A special assembly in which students honoured teachers with ‘Thank you’ cards and
presented a cultural program, was organized at Saket branch. The day became more
memorable with an outing to The Grand Venice Mall, Greater Noida.
Show and Tell Competition (Sept. 16) Students were given the theme
on 'ANIMALS'. They described
their favourite animal like camel,
dinosaur, giraffe, cow etc. using
props, facial expressions and
voice modulation. This activity
helped to inculcate confidence,
enhance knowledge and improve
oratory skills.

Art Olympiad (Sept. 17)
Art Olympiad, titled Swachh
Bharat Painting Contest
organized by National
Education and Human
Resource Development
Organization was held on the
birthday of hon’ble Prime
Minister of India, Mr. Narendra
Modi. Students of all classes
were provided a colouring
sheet having the picture of a
dustbin and broomstick
promoting 'Swachh Bharat
Abhiyan'. The competition
included the element of art to promote cleanliness with the aim to identify talented artists
and instill a sense of pride for their creative excellence.
Self Introduction Competition (Sept. 25-26)
Introduction, an
important part of
communication
skill, is very
important as it
gives the first
impression.
Therefore, a ‘Self
Introduction’ event
was organised to
develop public
speaking skills.
Students felt on top of the world when they spoke about themselves, their family, school,
hobbies, native place, likes/ dislikes, aim of life etc.
The event proved that Pre Primary students have learnt the art of effectively and
impressively introducing themselves.

Teacher’s Day Celebration (Sept.5)
Teacher - anciently called ‘Guru’, has been given more importance than even God, being
the only one to shape the personality of an individual. Students presented handmade
cards and flowers to their teachers as a token of their love and respect. One of the pre-
primary students recited the ‘guru mantra’. Manager Karan Mehta and teachers were
overwhelmed by getting so much love and respect from their students. An outing was also
organized to The Grand Venice Mall at Greater Noida. It was indeed a memorable day.
Hindi Diwas (Sept. 13) Hindi Divas is annually
observed on 14 September
to celebrate Hindi as one of
the official language of
India. Staff and students
celebrated the day with
much enthusiasm. Students
of all the classes welcomed
their teachers by saying
“Suprabhat adhyapika ji.
Humari kaksha main aapka swagat hai.” Conversation was done in Hindi for the whole day.
Students of pre-school and pre-primary played ‘akshar’ game and classes I to V created a
story with a set of given words. Teachers told the importance of Hindi as our mother -
tongue and urged everyone to feel proud of our National Language.

Art Olympiad (Sept. 17) As a commitment to the overall
growth and development of our
students and allowing them
opportunities to excel, students from
pre-school to class V participated in Art
Olympiad conducted by TOI group,
coordinated by Mrs. Hema Shandilya,
PGT Art. Students exhibited their
creativity and colour sense beautifully
on the theme - ‘Swachh Bharat’.
Talent Hunt (Sept. 27)
With the aim to bring out
the hidden talent and to
nurture their confidence
and presentation skills,
Talent Hunt activity was
organized for all the
students. Students
exhibited their talent in
activities like dancing,
singing, drawing &
colouring, hand craft,
cookery, karate, archery,
skating and instrumental
music. Mrs. Deepa Sharma,
senior Activity Coordinator,
Saket judged the whole
program. She was
overwhelmed on seeing the
fantabulous talent and
creative skills of young
children. School's Manager Karan Mehta appreciated the students for showing the
performance of their own choice and encouraged them to always perform their best.
