FY19 SIGNIFICANT PROJECTSCIVIL WORKS
La Joya Phase IV Acequia ConstructionAdvertise Date: 3rd/4th Qtr. FY19Acquisition Strategy: TBDContract Magnitude: $1M - $5M
Project Description: The La Joya acequia system experiences significant water seepage and evaporation. The acequia’s embankments are unstable due to erosion, flooding, seepage, etc. The project will realign segments of the acequia; line portions of the acequia with concrete; install and bury 48-inch diameter piping for other portions of the acequia; and install hard transition structures.
Hatch Section 205 Dam and Channel ImprovementsAdvertise Date: 1st/2nd Qtr. FY20Acquisition Strategy: TBDContract Magnitude: $10M - $20M
Project Description: The project includes construction of an earthen embankment dam located upstream of the Village of Hatch and adjacent to Spring Canyon intended to address ponding floodwaters that regularly inundate the village. The entire Village of Hatch is in the 100-year floodplain. Flooding originates from two sources: Spring Canyon and Placitas Arroyo. Structures, roadways, and crops have been impacted by flows from the surrounding mountains, significantly flooding the community three times in the last 15 years, most recently in July 2006.
Project Description: 1200-ft long pipeline that will tee off the existing line that runs from the Bulk Fuels Groundwater Treatment System to the KAFB golf course. This will provide a back up discharge point for treated water than can flow into Tijeras Arroyo. Pipeline is 6” diameter and will be 3-4 ft bgs; will include valves for flow control and meters for recording discharge. Terrain is sloping.
