WoRkShop oppoRTuNiTieS The 2019 Western Australia – Show Me The WAy Workshop aims to showcase the extraordinary state of Western Australia, its regions and key products to trade partners in key markets of the eastern states of Australia and New Zealand via a networking and educational exchange event.

Limited places are available (see selection process detailed on page 6 of this document).

Participants MUST attend all three cities that form part of this event series.

WoRkShop oppoRTuNiTieS • Meet with and educate Inbound Tour

Operators.

• Educate AU and NZ travel agents about your product experience – including agents from Helloworld Group, Flight Centre Group, Travel Counsellors, Magellan, ATAC, Travellers Choice, Express Travel Group, Travel Managers, House of Travel, First Travel Group, You Travel, World Travellers and Brokers.

• Provide opportunities to meet influential product managers in Australia and NZ to encourage them to include your product or region in their program/brochures.

• Build relationships with WA focused wholesalers.

• Inform Australian and NZ travel trade media of new and extraordinary stories within WA.

• Meet with approximately 400 trade representatives across three cities.

WoRkShop objecTiveS • To increase awareness of Western

Australia and its regions.

• To raise the profile of Western Australia’s tourism product suppliers.

• To provide WA industry with an opportunity to establish strategic business relationships with key trade partners on the East Coast and New Zealand.

• Collectively educate front line agents, wholesale partners and inbound tour operators about WA and its regional strengths, particularly focusing on events and the transformation of Perth.

• Further develop relationships with key product buyers/owners to influence decisions on product inclusion in brochures and/or on websites.

• To showcase our tourism products and services and generate trade media exposure for WA.

pARTicipATioN pAckAge foR WA deLegATeS The product participation fee* for the 2019 Western Australia – Show Me The WAy Workshop is as follows:

The delegate cost for the workshop includes the following:

• Inbound, product manager and frontline wholesale meetings, travel agent and trade training workshops, networking events and hosted media and trade events.

• Presentations will vary from one table per product at workshop events to group training sessions.

• Venue hire.

• Lunches (2).

• Evening functions (3).

• Comprehensive database of all event attendees.

• Opportunity to provide two (2) land prizes for trip giveaway for Agent Workshops.

• Show Me The WAy Workshop with your company profile for distribution.

• Transfer from Auckland International Airport and the Stamford Plaza Hotel on Wed 29 May.

Delegates are required to bear the costs of the following additional items:

• Airfares from Perth to Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and return to Perth.

• Transfers not included on itinerary, specifically to and from the airport.

• Arrival / departure to/from the cities of Sydney, Melbourne.

• Any meals not specified.

• Access to office equipment (internet, email, printers, scanners, photocopiers, stationery).

• Brochure shipment and delivery of presentation/display/promo materials from WA to east coast and New Zealand.

• Excess baggage charges.

• Optional sightseeing tours.

• Accommodation during the course of the WA workshop.

• Other personal and incidental charges.

• Travel insurance/public liability.

* The participation fee is a fixed cost based on group rates. Individual changes to the itinerary will not be funded by Tourism WA. Please note that invoices will be issued by Tourism WA in Australian dollars ($AUD).

Who ShouLd ATTeNd? The workshop is most suited to Directors of Sales & Marketing, Business Development Managers or business owners who are either already contracted with Inbound Tour Operators and Domestic Wholesalers, or suitable wholesale ready product looking to grow their business from the eastern states and New Zealand.

Criteria for attendance:

Product with non-east coast and NZ offices registrants will be given first consideration.

MUST hAvE • Suitability and availability of tourism

products and services in the Inbound and Wholesale segment.

• Able to show a long-term commitment to the market.

• Tourism accreditation.

• Member of relevant Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO).

• Special consideration will be given to new hotel and touring product offering a unique location or experience.

hIgHLY REgARDeD • Product that offers more than one product

across multiple regions.

• Currently active in the market and working with key wholesalers in the AU and NZ markets.

• Have undertaken marketing activities in the markets prior.

• Member of ATEC.

• Attends ATE or looking to attend in 2019.

Selection process:

1. Prospectus and Expression of Interest – Registration Form distributed to suitable product, 7 November 2018.

2. Completed Expressions of Interest – Registration Forms to be submitted to Pat Monneron, Trade Sales Manager at Tourism WA, by 23 November 2018.

3. Based on above criteria, Tourism WA to select suitable applicants to attend the Show Me The WAy Workshop.

4. All applicants will be notified by 7 December 2018 of their acceptance or non-acceptance to attend the 2019 Western Australia Show Me The WAy Workshop.

RecoMMeNdATioNS Travel insurance – as Tourism WA does not accept responsibility or liability for any loss suffered by participants it is strongly advised that all participants are responsible for personal travel and health insurance including public and products liability, workers compensation and content insurance for the duration of the workshop and additional stay in the eastern states and in New Zealand.

It is highly recommended that insurance is purchased prior to departure for the duration of Show Me The WAy Workshop.

eveNT RegiSTRATioN TeRMS ANd coNdiTioNS 1. By registering to participate in

Western Australia – Show Me The WAy Workshop (Event) and completing the registration form, Sellers agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

2. In order to showcase the depth and diversity of Western Australian tourism product, and to maintain and stimulate interest in the destination, Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA) reserves the right to assess all applications on a case by case basis, determine final product (Sellers) participation for the Event and Tourism WA’s decision is final. Selection Criteria:

a) Participation is only available to accredited tourism businesses with membership of appropriate RTO, State, National and International travel association bodies.

b) Suitability of product for domestic and International market consistent with Tourism WA domestic and international marketing strategies, available research, and information provided in Tourism WA market briefs. All product and services must be commissionable at the required domestic and international levels.

c) Long term operational stability and creditor status with Tourism WA.

d) All product and services must have the appropriate licensing. License numbers must be provided or proof of exemption. Licenses must be in the name of the company applying.

e) Tourism WA reserves the right to waive any of the selection criteria at its discretion. Representations to be excluded from one or more criteria should be made in writing and should include any supporting documentation. Such representations should be included with the initial application.

f) Preference is given to organisations that have an affiliation with domestic and New Zealand wholesalers attending the workshop.

g) All participants must undertake to have full updated wholesale and retail rates availabl for participation in the workshop.

h) Complementary products over competitive products, i.e. variety of product availability and geographical spread are desired.

i) In the situation where, despite the application of selection criteria referred to above, demand exceeds participation availability, it may be necessary to apply category limits in order to maintain a balanced representation of product.

j) All WA operators attending this roadshow are expected to participate in all prearranged meetings and workshops for the duration of the workshop.

k) The selection criteria set out in these terms are not exhaustive and are not listed in any priority.

3. Tourism WA reserves the right to modify and or cancel the Event itinerary without notice for any reason, to ensure costs of running the Event are met.

4. In the event a Seller is required to cancel their registration, the following cancellation fees will apply regardless of whether the registration fee has been paid and received by Tourism WA. Your company will be liable for all costs incurred prior to the receipt of your written termination notice. Cancellation is permitted up to 5pm (WST) 12 April 2019, if cancellation is received after this date the total registration cost will still be payable by the Seller and or retained by Tourism WA.

5. Sellers name change request is subject to approval by Tourism WA and will not be accepted if received after 5pm (WST) 23 April 2019.

6. All cancellations and or name change requests must be made in writing to [email protected] at the Tourism WA east coast office.

7. Sellers are to only promote Western Australia destination and products i.e. national operators or products representing destinations other than Western Australia are not to promote or sell products outside of Western Australia.

8. A Seller can only represent the company that has applied and been accepted to participate. Product Representation Companies (PRC) and General Sales Agents (GSA) can only represent one product or destination at this Event.

9. All Delegates, including additional Delegates must be directly employed or contracted by the company accepted to participate at the Event. Tourism WA reserves the right to verify by any means which Tourism WA considers necessary evidence that the Delegates are directly employed by the company to satisfy itself that the delegate has fulfilled this condition. Where it is identified that the additional Delegate is not a direct employee of the product company prior to the Event, the Delegate will be cancelled from the company’s application and any costs associated with that Delegates attendance or participation at the Event will be forfeited.

10. Seller and Delegate registrations are not exchangeable, redeemable or transferrable.

11. The 50% participation fee deposit is due by 14 December 2018 and final payment is due 2 April 2019. The participation fee is non-refundable as at 12 April 2019.

12. The participation fee is a fixed cost based on group rates and individual changes to the itinerary will not be funded by Tourism WA.

13. There is no reduction in the registration fee for Delegates who do not use any or all of the services or functions as outlined in the itinerary.

14. Sellers contact details will be kept by Tourism WA and Sellers may be contacted in the future regarding information on their participation in this and any future trade events.

15. Sellers acknowledge that Tourism WA’s insurance coverage does not extend to cover third parties including Sellers and Delegates. It is recommended that Sellers and Delegates purchase their own insurance policy.

Each Seller hereby warrants that the information supplied to Tourism WA is and will remain true, correct, reliable and current and neither misleading nor deceptive and that the publication of such information will not contravene any laws including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and Fair Trading Act 2010 (WA).

16. To the fullest extent permitted at law the Seller releases Tourism WA from any and all liability (in negligence or howsoever) for costs, damages, expenses and losses which any Seller may suffer or incur as a result of Tourism WA’s action or inaction arising out of or in connection with the Event.

17. Without limiting clause 17 in no circumstances is Tourism WA liable to any Seller for any indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of opportunity (including business opportunity), revenue or profit.

18. Without limiting clause 17 and 18 Tourism WA is not liable (in negligence or howsoever) to the Sellers for the acts or omissions of third parties (including any parties for whom Tourism WA is or may be vicariously liable).

19. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia irrespective of the place of residence of any Seller.
