Reiki Gathering 6:30 p.m. on the Second
Thursday of the Month
Facilitated by Patricia Ahlquist
Reiki Practitioners are invited to attend this gathering
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that
also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is
based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us
and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low,
then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we
are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Pranic Healing® Clinic
6:00 p.m. on the First
Friday of the Month
Facilitated by Lilia Afshary
Pranic Healing® is a simple yet powerful and effective system of no-
touch energy healing. It is based on the funda-
mental principles that the body is a self-
repairing living entity that possesses the abil-
ity to heal itself and that the healing process is
accelerated by increasing this life force that is
readily available from the sun, air and ground
to address physical and emotional imbalances.
Drumming Circle 7:00 p.m. on the Second
Monday of the Month
Facilitated by Sage Trucano
Drumming has been used for healing, ceremony/
prayer and communion with the Divine Creator
and each other for centuries. Join us in
celebration, prayer and healing using sound and the beat of the moth-
er drum which is the beating of our hearts.
Bring your own rattles and drums or use the many we have to share.
Dance, sing, rattle, drum or just listen to the healing beats.
No experience is necessary - All are invited to attend

Unity Raises Awareness for Alzheimer’sOne of the pleasant ways to raise awareness is the Tahoe Joe’s fundraiser. This year’s event is Thursday, August 15, and our
team receives more than a $2,400 credit for the donations to the Walk if all $20 advance tickets are sold.
It’s heartening to know that our Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center sponsors the Solano County Walk to End Alzheimer’s each
year.
This is the 7th year that Team Unity has had a major presence at the Suisun City Harbor Plaza. You can take part in a 1- or 3-
mile walk around the Harbor Plaza while learning about advocacy opportunities, clinical studies, and support programs and
services from the Alzheimer’s Association. You can join in the meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by
Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. You can enjoy the Promise Garden, opening ceremony, live music, face painting
and other activities for children. Please join the Walk by visiting http://act.alz.org/solano2019.
Unity of the Valley is dedicated to the Belief in God as universal Spirit
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for each individual to express their inner Christ Spirit

From Bob Panzer, President of the Board of Trustees
Your Board of Trustees is busy with ongoing projects that I want to share.
Trustee Donovan Ahlquist is working on submitting recommendations for changes in our Bylaws to align with the By-laws of Unity Worldwide Ministries. Our current Bylaws are not out of conformity with most of the UWM Bylaws, and only a few modifications will be needed. They will be presented for approval by our membership at the annual meeting next February.
Trustees Cindy Hulburt, Gloria Johnson and Michelle Dickey are conferring on the best plan for spacing fundraising events through the year. We want the energy and commitment for each event to remain strong. Any changes in the calendar will likely not occur until the year 2020.
Trustee Gloria Johnson and I recently met with a prospect for sharing the building, but no decision has been made. The offer continues to be advertised in various media.
The Board approved a presentation by Kathryn Patterson, Gretchen Harper and Meiling Albert requesting approval to seek authorization from Unity Worldwide Ministries as a certified EarthCare Ministry. Mary Gerken has shown us how we are already “…ecologically responsible stewards of our earthly home.” The vision statement we adopted reads, “Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center is committed to upholding our Spiritual Oneness with the Earth, each other and all living beings.” We anticipate certification as we create a consciousness for ideas, inspiration and guidance in this EarthCare Ministry through prayer.
As our Senior Minister, Rev. Dalia Adams, completes a two-month sabbatical on August 18, we are blessed with a variety of Sunday guest speakers including Vic Jenkins, Sonya Milton, Gary Eisenberg, Margie Brach and Diana and Chris Johnson. All programs are thriving through the summer, and we are grateful for the abundance of prosperity at our Spiritual Center!
