2019 AMERICAS CONNECTION DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARYSightseeing in each port is NOT included. Shore excursions are available for purchase through Oceania Cruises.

Day 1: Sat, Mar 16 – Depart Honolulu.

Day 2: Sun, Mar 17 – In Transit.

Day 3: Mon, Mar 18 – Arrive LIMA, PERU. Embark Marina. Depart 5:00 pm.

Day 4: Tue, Mar 19 – SALAVERRY, PERU. Arrive 9:00 am. Depart 6:00 pm. Founded by the Spanish conquistador Pizarro, Salaverry has numerous archaeological excavations and is a jumping-off spot for a visit to Machu Picchu. The “Lost City of the Incas” is one of South America's most intriguing archaeological sites. Machu Picchu is perched 7,875 feet above sea level and has a 1,800-foot vertical drop face. What remains are extraordinary stone buildings built by the Incas for use as temples, sanctuaries and homes. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was originally built in 1460.

Day 5: Wed, Mar 20 – CRUISING THE PACIFIC OCEAN.

Day 6: Thur, Mar 21 – MANTA, ECUADOR. Arrive 7:00 am. Depart 9:00 pm. As a gateway to Ecuador, the small port city of Manta is a short drive from Montecristi, where the world's best Panama hats are produced and also where they originated. Catch a flight to the capital city of Quito, a wonderfully preserved colonial-era city perched 9,200 feet above sea level. Beautiful lakes, volcanoes and high mountains around the town of Otavalo are spectacular.

Day 7: Fri, Mar 22 – ESMERALDAS, ECUADOR. Arrive 8:00 am. Depart 6:00 pm. Esmeraldas is the capital of the province of the same name, which is home to the Chachi, an indigenous people who live in the nearby rainforest. As a newer cruise port, the city offers an authentic experience for visitors. Relax on the nearby beaches, which attract sightseers from around the country, or seek out the Afro-Ecuadorian rhythms of the marimba players at Las Palmas, a newly developed waterfront area.

Day 8: Sat, Mar 23 – CRUISING THE PACIFIC OCEAN.

Day 9: Sun, Mar 24 – PANAMA CANAL DAYLIGHT TRANSIT.

Day 10: Mon, Mar 25 – PUERTO LIMON, COSTA RICA. Arrive 8:00 am. Depart 5:00 pm. Ride the aerial tram through the rainforest canopy at Braulio Carillo National Park. Take a boat ride through the Tortuguero Canals or the Estero Negro estuary, the rich jungle tapestry all around, while watching for colorful birds, monkeys, iguanas, sloths, crocodiles and the legendary, iridescent Blue Morpho butterfly.

Day 11: Tue, Mar 26 – CRUISING THE CARIBBEAN SEA.

Day 12: Wed, Mar 27 – SANTO TOMAS, GUATEMALA. Arrive 9:00 am. Depart 7:00 pm. Visit fascinating Quiriguá and its stunning Mayan stele. Take a boat ride along the Rio Dulce to Lake Izabal past riverside Mayan villages, lush tropical vegetation and Fort San Felipe. Or take a short flight to Flores for an unforgettable visit to incredible, mysterious Tikal, its soaring ancient temples rising from the jungle floor.

Day 13: Thur, Mar 28 – ROATAN, HONDURAS. Arrive 8:00 am. Depart 6:00 pm. Luxuriate on the magnificent beaches, snorkel or dive and explore the superb shallow reefs, or discover the island's other natural wonders on a horseback ride on the beach and through a tropical forest past spectacular volcanic rocks.

Day 14: Fri, Mar 29 – HARVEST CAYE, BELIZE. Arrive 8:00 am. Depart 5:00 pm. Featuring an enchanting range of environments such as tropical rainforests, marshes and coral reefs, Harvest Caye offers both relaxation and adventure amid lush landscapes. This 75-acre paradise invites you to explore its incredibly biodiverse surroundings, witnessing exotic wildlife or perhaps discovering the world’s second largest coral reef. Gain insight into the region’s Mayan and Garifuna roots, discover traditional arts and traditions at the local artisans’ village or simply soak up the abundant Belizean sunshine and relax.

Day 15: Sat, Mar 30 – COSTA MAYA, MEXICO. Arrive 8:00 am. Depart 6:00 pm. The cruise port of Costa Maya in Mexico's developing Costa Maya region is surrounded by dense jungle and turquoise waters and blessed with radiant sunshine. No wonder the ancient Maya lived nearby, building ceremonial centers like Chacchoben, where you can climb among the ruins, many of which are still being excavated. Look for raucous toucans in the trees.

Day 16: Sun, Mar 31 – CRUISING THE STRAITS OF FLORIDA.

Day 17: Mon, Apr 01 – MIAMI, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES. Arrive 7:00 am. Depart 6:00 pm. People-watchers will enjoy South Beach's Ocean Drive, while architecture buffs will love the Art Deco District. Day 19: Wed, Apr 03 – NORFOLK, VIRGIINIA, UNITED STATES. Arrive 9:00 am. Depart 7:00 pm. Admire the churches and old homes in the Ghent Historic District, immerse yourself in the impressive Chrysler Museum of Art, or meander through the shaded grounds of the Norfolk Botanical Garden. View the exhibits in Nauticus, a maritime science museum, and walk the decks of the battleship USS Wisconsin.

Day 20: Thur, Apr 04 – NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES. Arrive 12:00 pm. Overnight in port. The Big Apple. The City That Never Sleeps. Call it what you may, New York reigns as one of the world's most dynamic cities. But where to begin? The sacred soil of Ground Zero or stunning Central Park? The Guggenheim or the American Museum of Natural History? Should you take in a Broadway show or simply enjoy the nonstop show of people that parade through the streets? The possibilities are endless in the five boroughs of New York City, so get out and enjoy.

Day 21: Fri, Apr 05 – NEW YORK – HONOLULU. Arrive 8:00 am. Disembark Marina. Return flight to Honolulu. Aloha & Welcome Home!
