PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
As the year winds down, we can look back at this past Met year
and realize how quickly it passed by. As we look forward, we
certainly need to appreciate how very fortunate we are to live in
countries where we are allowed so many freedoms in our daily lives.
Certainly, everything is not completely rosy, as the current
economic times are impacting many
of us, or those around us. We have so many things to be thankful
for, yet others around the world can only dream of having in their
lives. There are so many to list, and each of us has many different
ones. This is a good time to sit down and list out all of the
things you have to be thankful for and all of the liberties you
enjoy. Once done, you will have a long list. We are very blessed!
Can other citizens and nations outside of North America have lists
like ours? Very doubtful! Many thanks go out to our military troops
stationed around the world who continue to put their lives at stake
to insure that these lists remain intact and will still be around
for generations to come. We are very fortunate that they have
chosen to be our “protectors” for our way of life and ideals.
One of the line items on my list is our “Met Family”. Here is a
group of individuals, from all walks of life, who have a common
interest in automobiles and espe-cially the classic “Met”. Not only
are the Mets a common bond, but so are the growing friendships that
have developed via our association with this inanimate object, most
of which have been given names. We become family as we enjoy the
camaraderie and fellow-ship of each other and the group, but also,
as we have concern over the well being of each other, through the
“up” and “down” times.
We are blessed to have each other.
May each of you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
2019 will be another special “Met” year. Jeff Rich

convertible in the parking lot. 39 members were in attendance. Tom
and Sue Waggener returned from their world biking trip. Also, Mike
and Ruth Grabowski visited as they are moving to Idaho.
The minutes for October were presented. A motion and a second to
accept. Motion was carried.
The treasures report was given by Jan Watson. October Beginning

for finding the container which will be delivered to our wonderful

Also a “Big Thanks” To Dan and Lynn Paul for letting the club
put this 40 foot container on their property. Now, Dan & Lynn
are going to find a Little Surprise in the container; THE HARD LUCK

Early Bird Swap Meet, Puyallup Fairgrounds, February 14-15
The club will once again have a double booth at the Early Bird
swap meet - but this year we will also have five cars in the car
show! This will be a great way to promote Met-ropolitans and
celebrate our fortieth birthday. I have two sets of sign up sheets
for volunteers - one to work our traditional booth (where we will
display a car, sell posters, pass out fliers, and sign up new
members) and the second to man the car show (where we will stage
five Mets and teach the public about our cars and our club history.
The sign-up sheets will be at the Christmas party

The 2019 MOCNA International hosted by The Rocky Mountain Mets
in Castle Rock, Colorado is only 6 months away! Have you made your
reservations yet? This International get-together is shaping up to
be so much fun – the Rambler Ranch, Pikes Peak climb, lots of Mets
- Now’s the time to get those parts ordered to spruce up your Met
for the big event! And even if your Met isn’t running just right,
we still want to see YOU (but we might make you follow along behind
the amazing long line of Mets as we cruise ;^{)} Dale

From the BC Mets - Jim Cave passed on this info: a
1960 hard top that is ready for paint has to be
sold. All parts are there. This is a complete and run-
ning car, though it’s been off the road for a while.
The last time it was running was a couple of years
ago, so it will likely need a battery, tune-up, etc. It
has new brakes and tires, an updated muffler and a
start made on the interior upholstery. It has been
sanded and is in primer in prep for paint. There
wasn’t much rust and very little body work needed, so
a good base to work from. She found a black and
white that was nearer completion so went ahead with
it, and now needs to sell the first Met. She wants US
$3,500 for it. The car is in Mission. Contact Sheryl
at 1-604-217-6659 or [email protected] 2
Dallas Spacal is looking to round out his Met Gazette
collection. He needs all of 1978 and May of 2016. If
you can help him out, call him at 971-678-2664. 2
Don Kasper has a friend who is selling a 1956
turquoise and white hardtop in Duvall. This fully
restored Metropolitan has only 58,000 miles and was
part of private collection. It is priced at $10,500. Call
Ron at 425-275-1711. 2
I have a 1959 Nash Metropolitan convertible in Sno-homish,
Washington, with 1461 miles on the rebuilt motor. I have replaced
the front brakes. The car is in excellent condition and runs great
- no issues with it. I am looking to get $30,000 obo. Katrina

1957 Metropolitan, turquoise and white body, black and
white interior, three speed on the column, just under
70,000 miles. Purchased in Yakima in the mid-70s.
Garaged for the last 40 years in Centralia. Driven
monthly. Good to fair condition. Radio does not work.
$5000. [email protected] 1
PNMOC’s Annual Charitable Donation
Christmas is a time of giving, so it is fitting that the club
chose this time of year to annually select a charitable, non-profit
organization to receive our $200.00 donation. Over the years, club
funds have supported the American Lake Veterans' Golf Course, the
Federal Way Senior Center, Tom Beck's Walk USA, and many other
worthy charitable groups. By supporting local registered
organizations, we have helped fight cancer and diabetes, assuage
hunger, provide eyeglasses, help fund toy drives, and provide
Automotive Program scholarships.
Every member of PNMOC has the opportunity to write a letter to
the Board suggesting an organization to re-ceive the club’s
donation. If you will be making a suggestion, you need to hurry;
the fiscal year ends January 31st. Contact any Board member.

You get a great bang for the bucks! A big THANK YOU to the
members who have already paid. Not sure if you have paid? Postal
recipients can check their label. Email recipients will be getting
a reminder via their email inbox.
Make $15.00 checks payable to PNMOC and send to Jeff Rich 6309
