Strolling down a boulevard, sitting on a terrace, window shopping, chatting in the street, and dressing as you please in a peaceful setting is the lifestyle that beautiful Aix can boast about. The abandonment of all cars and bad habits was not without effort, but with its pedestrianised centre, peripheral parking, and efficient public transport the city has become a laboratory for living together and shared public spaces.
