Year 6 Farewell: Fletcher and Samuel joined students
from Illabo PS to celebrate their 7 years of primary
education last week
A message from Mr Leary…
Last Friday evening was a wonderful culmination to an
outstanding year at Eurongilly PS. We are fortunate to
have an amazing facility, our community hall, to gather
and celebrate our student’s achievements. Thank you to
our P&C for setting up the hall and organising the
delicious supper for us all to enjoy at the end of our
presentation.
Our P&C has done an amazing job this year, raising
significant funds to support teaching and learning at the
school. President Di, outlined these financial
contributions in her address; the staff and students
greatly appreciate everything you do for us.
It was great to have Evan attend our ceremony to
present Samuel and Fletcher with their Director’s
Awards. The boys received their awards for ‘Leadership
and Commitment to Learning’, and I am sure you will
all agree that their leadership qualities were definitely
on display last Friday evening.

Congratulations to all students upon receiving their
awards. You have all had a super year of learning and
can have a well-earned break. We look forward to
seeing you all back again in 2019 to continue your
learning journey.
On Monday this week, Nick Hodge commenced our new
shed project. He hopes to have it complete early in
January, so that we can move the shelving out of the old
music room. This space will be transformed into a
learning space, predominantly for Creative Arts and ICT
activities. It will be home to a large flat screen TV for ICT
activities, all our art and craft supplies and our STEM kits.
This will be an exciting new addition to our school
environment. It will also be a home for our P&C and
other school meetings. I hope to host the first Ngumba-
Dal Learning Community meeting here during Term 1.
As I mentioned last week, we head into the 2019 school
year with staff stability. Staffing for 2019 will be:
Mr Leary: Relieving Principal
Miss Breen: Teacher (4 days; Mon, Wed, Thurs and
Fri)
Mrs Scott: SAM (Wed-Fri)
Miss Guthrie SLSO (Tue and Fri)
We are confident that we will commence the year with
24 students, with the possibility of another couple of
enrolments moving into the area. It is great that our
small school is continuing to grow.
I have included some 2019 calendar dates for you to
start planning around. It will certainly be a busy start to
the year.
To conclude, I would like to thank everyone who has
contributed to our school, no matter how big or small,
throughout the year. We are a proactive learning
community, dedicated to providing a quality education
for our students. Thanks also to the many parents and
community members who have sent in gifts for staff;
they are much appreciated. We are fortunate to work in
this great little school and all look forward to next year.
Have a great break!
