Research libraries support the missions of their institutions by facilitating the �ow of scholarly information to and from the institutions’ researchers. As research in many disciplines becomes more data and so�ware inten-sive, libraries are �nding that services and infrastructure developed to preserve and provide access to textual documents are insu�cient to meet their institutions’ needs. In response, libraries around the world have begun assessing the data management needs of their researchers, and expanding their capacity to meet the needs that they �nd.�is discussion panel will discuss approaches to building research data management services and infrastruc-ture in academic libraries. Panelists will discuss international e�orts to support research data management, while highlighting the di�erent models that universities have adopted to provide a mix of services and infra-structure tailored to their local needs.

Mohamed Ba-essa (Moderator)

Mohamed is the Manager of systems and Digital Services in the KAUST library, he lead the establishment of the KAUST Research Repository; a major initiative of the KAUST University Library to Capture, share, and expand the impact of research-related works of the university. Mohamed also serves in various committee and major initiatives such as the university Open Access Committee, Research Data Management interest group, ORCID implementa-tion and other research information management projects.Mohamed holds an MSc. In Records Management and Digital Preservation from University of Dundee, and a degree in comput-er science from Pune University. He is a strong advocate for process improvement, holding certi�ed Six Sigma green and black belts from the British Quality Foundation.

Daryl Grenz (Panelist)

Daryl Grenz is the Digital Repository Coordinator in the KAUST Library where he works to implement the university’s open access policy via publications tracking and harvesting. He focuses on developing integrations between the repository and a variety of university, publisher, indexing, and identi�er systems (such as ORCID), while also providing training on the use of the repository and related services. Daryl holds a Masters of Library and Informa-tion Science from the University of Washington and a BA in German and History from Gettysburg College.

Eirini Mastoraki (Panelist)

Eirini is an analyst for the Institutional Repository of the KAUST Library where she is currently involved in projects related to the Research Data Management services planning agenda. She formerly worked for the KAUST Research Evaluation O�ce, contributing to the implementation of its research information system by creating e�cient and sustainable work�ows to stream-line data exchange between the CRIS and internal/external systems. Before joining KAUST, Eirini served for 15 years in the IT department of the University of Crete Library, Greece. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics and has done postgraduate studies in Laser Applications.
